Sorry for the on-topic post ;-), but my vote is for not having a separate UK section. The Europe section isn't super active as it is. Creating a UK section will just dilute it further and create the innconvenience of having to check out an additional section on every visit to F-Chat. Just my 0.02 worth :-) |

Jeff, It's cool dude, no worries mate. My apologies for getting so serious. Guess i tend to really relate things to history, life experiences, and world situations/my travels. As Roger Waters sings "What G-d wants, G-d gets. G-d help us all..." Enjoy the Drive, Steven R. Rochlin

Hi Steve et al... I only came back with a Colony remark for fun ! We are too related for it to be an 'issue' !! I agree that politics is best left out of this forum. God Save the Queen !! |

UK Jeff, Well, at least the English did not use drugs as a way to keep the United States in their favours as England did with Asia. But then again we had a tea party near my home (Boston)... Sorry to open a wound, but the UK is far from innocent... as are the Americans in the way we treated the TRUE natives here on this continent (the Indians). History my friends... and truth. Said my peace, will say no more. This is now 2003 and life moves on... We now return you back to our regularly scheduled Fchat programme already in progress. Enjoy the Music (Roger Waters, Ferrari owner, album titled "Amused To Death" right now on vinyl), Steven R. Rochlin "Doctor Doctor, what is wrong with me This supermarket life is getting long What is the heart life of a colour TV What is the shelf life of a teenage queen Ooh western woman Ooh western girl News hound sniffs the air When Jessica Hahn goes down He latches on to that symbol of detachment Attracted by the peeling away of feeling The celebrity of the abused shell, the belle Ooh western woman Ooh western girl Ooh western woman Ooh western girl And the children on Melrose Strut their stuff Is absolute zero cold enough And out in the valley, warm and clean The little ones sit by their TV screens No thoughts to think No tears to cry All sucked dry Down to the very last breath Bartender what is wrong with me? Why am I so out of breath? The captain said excuse me ma'am This species has amused itself to death Amused itself to death It has amused itself to death Amused itself to death We watched the tragedy unfold We did as we were told We bought and sold It was the greatest show on earth But then it was over We ohhed and aahed We drove our racing cars We ate our last few jars of caviar And somewhere out there in the stars A keen-eyed look-out Spied a flickering light Our last hurrah Our last hurrah And when they found our shadows Grouped 'round the TV sets They ran down every lead They repeated every test They checked out all the data on their lists And then, the alien anthropologists Admitted they were still perplexed But on eliminating every other reason For our sad demise They logged the only explanation left This species has amused itself to death No tears to cry, no feelings left This species has amused itself to death Amused itself to death Amused itself to death (repeating) (switch channels) [Alf Razzell:] "Years later, I saw Bill Hubbard's name on the memorial to the missing at Aras. And I...when I saw his name I was absolutely transfixed; it was as though he...he was now a human being instead of some sort of nightmarish memory of how I had to leave him, all those years ago. And I felt relieved, and ever since then I've felt happier about it, because always before, whenever I thought of him, I said to myself, 'Was there something else that I could have done?' [background: "I'd rather die, I'd rather die..."] And that always sort of worried me. And having seen him, and his name in the register - as you know in the memorials there's a little safe, there's a register in there with every name - and seeing his name and his name on the memorial; it sort of lightened my...heart, if you like." [woman:] "When was it that you saw his name on the memorial?" [Alf:] "Ah, when I was eighty-seven, that would be the year, ninete...eighty-four, nineteen eighty-four." " |

Wow... I guess it was inevitable politics and the UK vs Europe debate was going to get in to this thread! Not sure I can picture my Ferrari coming from a "part of Iraq" or a trip across to continental Europe 100 miles/150 kilometres away being like a drive through Iraq. Though a resident of London, I was one of the people involved in starting the Europe section with Rob and Jens and others. It's great meeting other enthusiasts both here in the UK and in nearby continental Europe; for instance I'm looking forward to the Nurburgring gathering with people from the UK, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy and probably other countries. Having said that, it's a good idea to have a UK group and pretty easy to check the popularity of it by initially having more UK-centric threads in the current FC structure...

David, You could always ask Rob to open a UK discussion site at the regional clubs site. But I also think that it will not get very big. Another thing is that I like the international atmosphere on this site. Through this site we have created our first European (incl UK ) Ferrarichatmeeting, which will be held in June at the Nurnburgring in Germany. It takes away the boundaries. Ton |

Ooooooohhhh! I would reconsider that! I think that you are very funny and not very wise to state this kind of remarks on Fchat. What does Iraq has to do with this website?

Brian, You guys don't want the Euro, and now you also want to part from the european section at Fchat? Why would you want to isolate yourself in one big international community. Ton __________________________________________________ Because we share absolutly nothing with Europe. Its like you becoming part of Iraq |

LOL - funny comments here. The serious of it all is we'll get so many areas on the front page that they'll just all go back to one level down like it started. If an area can get enough traffic for about 5-10 messages a day then I don't mind for now. Who knows how we'll structure the sections with the new software. |

How about Ferrari Chat for the UK, using Europe is like grouping all US states under one. In fact its worse at least all your states speak the same language. How about it then |
