There is a Best Western in Sonora that is clean for those that may want to stay Saturday night. Its twenty five minutes from the 108/120 junction ( or fifteen minutes if you want to make it a fun drive :-) )

Sunday the 11th is fine. Look on the map for the 120/108 junction.

I am fine for anyday.

It's about 355 miles from my house to Sonora. If we left @ 6:00 am we would get there @ 10:45. Maybe a little less Peter, can you be more specific about a meeting place. I cannot find it on a map.

Anybody want to meet on the way to Sonora, maybe closer to Sacramento? I would be coming from Napa Valley area.

A good meeting place would be at the 120 junction in the AM. THere is a gas station there. (You will get that stares from the locals that will say 'What da heck kinda car is dayt?") Take 120 at Manteca east. 20 miles before Sonora, 120 turns south, towards Yosemite. If you go straight, at that point, it turns into 108. We could check the weather three days prior for the outlook (against rain) for a 'go-no-go'.

How about making this a fun-run for our troops? We can get pledges for every mile driven. Any comments?

Watch the radar on the way in, I was flying on the approach road from the west gate one night around 3am and a ranger was pinging a high speed sweeper with X-band. I lifted in time, but he looked wide awake with an itch pen hand.

Maybe draw straws and send in a rabbit ahead of the pack with all the detectors you can find.

The Upside, the roads in and around are real fun.

I live in Sonora,CA. near Yosemite. I think it would be a fun idea to get a group that would take a run to the valley floor for lunch at the Ahwanee Lodge. Any Bay Area,Central Valley,CA. folks that would be interested, lets say the second or third weekend in May? Waterfalls are awesome at that time the year also.
