I have the Andrea car cover too. I just don't like to cover my car immediately after driving it... all the engine heat under the cover bakes the paint and interior. Then again, that Texas sun kinda does the same thing???? |

Caution on the red cover...it will melt if it is on your exhaust. My first car came with one that clearly had exhaust "melts" on it. - JMG |

oh no - not the tonneau cover - yeah that's a bear. the red andrea car cover the cars come with. it takes maybe 120 seconds for me to put it on (or take it off). andrea says the covers are kosher on the car hot (ie: they won't combust or melt or anything like that). however, you should definitely use your best judgement. for the 355 i've considered getting another cover and cutting out a big hole in it to correspond to the top vents on the engine cover. doody. |

I just bought those twisting 'rings' with a reflective surface and use them all the time. They fold up and store behind the seat and fit inside the windshield. |

Doody, you're talking about the conv top, right? You don't put a car cover on your car when it's hot, do you... right after you've driven it?

Doody - Off-On in 2 seconds. I don't know about your car, but with mine, sometimes it takes me 5 minutes to get that sticking boot on! Fits real tight! Pulling on it like I'm bringing in a 750lb marlin, leaning back, foot against the quarter panel, asking little old ladys to help me pull, then finally "snap" it's on. I think you get the drift....

it's not that much extra work to just put your cover on. that'll protect ALL your leather (et. al.) from the sun. and it'll protect the whole car from bird bombs et. al. i've found that people don't seem to screw with a covered car (in crowded places in daylight). draping something like a flag would seem to invite attention. my two pennies. doody. |

Everyone with a Spider,GTS, etc faces the the problem when leaving your car open in the sun - damage to the dash.. At Sebring last weekend I came up with a quick and dirty solution. I had an extra Ferrari flag from when I was doing my garage (cheap one around $20). 1. Secure outside on wiper blades 2. Secure inside on sun visor..
3. Becuase the fabric is so light, it folds neatly into a small box (office depot) where I keep some quick detail in case of bird bomb.
4. Box fits neatly into trunk..
Good way to keep sun out when your at a car show or other event that has a secured parking area, would not do this at the beach, as someone would bag the flag...but not a bad idea in a pinch... |
