DES, please post or email the photo.

Tom, that would be SWEET!, thanks...! i've never been in a convertible before...!

Tom, i prefer DES over my 'real' name, anyway - besiDES, DES kinda is my 'real' name... As you know, though, i might change it... :-)

My biggest problem in meeting DES is I could not call him by his real name - to me his name is DES :-). BTW next time remind me to give to a ride in my topless f-car - might not compare to the 550 or 355 but its fun as hell

Had an awesome time at Classic Coach...! Got to meet Bruce, Todd, Tom, Bret & Barry - all awesome folks...! We talked about, well... cars...! They know a lot, had no problem helping me out in my perpetual difficulty with telling a 308 apart from a 328, etc, etc... There was a young woman there (an employee) who was very nice and helped me out with some stickers and some Horsey pins... All the people there were very nice... i spoke with several different people about different things and everyone was nice and cordial and down to earth...

i have pictures, but i won't be able to post them until Tuesday or Wednesday...

The drive down there was pretty good, until i actually got into Elizabeth... i got out of bed at 11 and didn't get there 'til 2... i actually drove right by the place & had to turn around about 5 miles later...

Classic coach, itself, is awesome... The food was GREAT...! :-)
There's two floors to this place, both packed with some of the most exotic and awesome cars i've ever seen...!
i went from never before seeing an F40 to seeing 5 of them...!
Upstairs, there was a Lamborghini Diablo - i think it was a Millennium Edition, but i'm not sure; maybe Bret could confirm or deny that...
There were als two Miuras - a green one and a white one... There was a 360 there with a California blue interior, which just looked totally awesome...

i saw more Lamborghini Countaches in that one day, in person, than i've ever seen, my entire life prior...

Upstairs, there was also an XJ220 - even in person, i still don't like those that much, but i took a picture anyway, 'cause i know some people on here like them... :-)

Mr. Ausbrooks, i also took a picture of a really nice blue, very old Ferrari that i think you'll like... Unfortunately, there was no name on the back, but i'm sure you'll know what it is...

i have a picture or two of that racecar others mentioned, but i don't think my pictures are any better...

i was fortunate enough to see a 333SP, too...! Wow, to see this car in person was intense... They also had a Formula 1 car there, but i'm not sure if it was real - the tires certainly weren't...

The silver F50 was menacing - what a great car...! So many years of never seeing one, and now i've seen two in two weeks...! The whole thing was just an awesome experience, altogether...!

Bruce, Todd, Tom, Bret, Barry - it was really nice meeting you, thanks or being available to chat with me, i really appreciate it... There's some really cool history behind Barry's car and i was lucky enough to have the opportunity to hear him explain it to me... You guys are really cool, thanks... i hope we meet up again, at another function... :-)

BrettM, do you have any more info on the Le Mans car? I originally thought it was a Tiga/Ferrari (powered by a 308 engine as well), but the only photos I could find on the Web looked like this:
http://members.tripod.com/obin_jess/GTP/tiga_ferrari_fast.jpg

BTW, here is a photo of a Spice/Ferrari I found on the same site as the Tiga:

The red race # 42 looks like a Spice chassis to me. I know Rob Dyson ran a Spice/Ferrari 10-12 years ago with a 348 engine built by Ted Wentz.

Anyone???

That car that ran at LeMan got like 1000hp out of a 308 block for qualifying, I think it was 800hp in race form. Pretty damn fast. I think we still have a Prost era F1 car in the showroom (I rarely go in there), other than that, the LeMan car is probably the fastest thing we have at work.

Nice work with the pics Tom...we should have had someone take a pic of your mug too :-)

The owner of Classic Coach was nice enough to give me a broschure on the 355 Spyder...yet he did not have any info on what colors were offered by Ferrari with the 355 Spyder...anyone know where you can find this selection?

The black Ferrari is a 250 GTE (could also be a 330 America, but more likely a GTE).

The silver car is, as Tom noted, an Aston Martin DB5. Remember Goldfinger, Thunderball, and Goldeneye?

Peter: Tim and Dan were asking about the red car that is barely visible in the background of the GTE picture. I posted a better picture of the car, but still didn't state what it was.

Dan, which red car are you refering to? If its the one with the two-piece windshield and the Buick-esque portholes on the sides of the fenders, then its the Cisitalia 202 which I just mentioned I wish I saw in person! Designed by Pinnin Farina, utilising a Fiat 1100 four-banger tuned to the max, only a hundred or so were ever made. One is on permanent display at MOMA in NYC as one of the most beautiful car designs ever...

Oh my God, they had a Cisitalia 202 Coupe and Lancia Aurelia Spyder there! Damn, I wish I was there to see them in person...

Looks like you all had a good time there. Thanks for posting these photos Tom!

Wayne,

What is the red car? While it's a pretty picture, I know nothing about these cars.

Thanks,

The green car is the 1960 250 GT Pinin Farina "Speciale" s/n 1737, one of the 30 PF specials I'm currently researching.

Classic coach hosted a free tech inspection today and it was great. Met a bunch of the F-chat guys there and had the car checked out. David North of FCA organized a great event. The techs even fixed some items on my car - here are some pics, hopefully they work.
