Phantastic Edvar!

I'll be patient. Nice 'shoes' you're wearing there.

Edvar, thanks for your comments. Having a nice watch collection myself including several fakes (of GP and others) I always thought, this was a real one. Couldn't remember the Cartier name, but now that you guys mention it, that's what I saw in the early eighties (late seventies or whatever).

So I'm very happy to have a (working!) F watch of the same time period as my F car! Yahoo!

If you ever find the brochure in your archive, I'm more than happy to pay you for your efforts of making a copy or scanning.

Thanks all!

The watch you have is of the "Ferrari Formula" series (so, NO fake!). As William said, the watches are made by Cartier in the '80s. The gold is not fake, but it indeed is real gold (18K). There are dozens of versions of this series. There are watches without chronograph, or with a red or a black background and so on. I have one too (completely different). I have a brochure somewhere, but I'm not sure if I can find it in my "archive" ....

cartier made a series of ferrari watches back in the 80's. i don't recognize this as one of them, but i am not that familar with the product line back then either.

g.p. has only recently begun making ferrari watches. many watch makers have made watches over the years. back in the sixties, it was not uncommon for guests of enzo to be given a presentation watch with the ferrari logo. these, along with watches that were given out to drivers for accomplishments show up from time to time for sale.

Below is a picture of a watch I bought some years ago on ebay. I was wondering if anybody has any history on this piece?

It says Ferrari on the band (twice) and on the face. On the back it says 'Stainless steel, Quartz, water resistant'. That's all. It is very precise and has a stopwatch built into it.

I *believe* I have seen watches like this in the late seventies, but am not sure. The watch is definitely old and I think no fake.

Don't plan on selling it, just would like to know more about it.
