Rich; Thanks, didn't know that. Isn't there something also like that it Montana? Somehow I don't see this happening in the Northeast-too many left wing nannies. |

Ha, no it wasnt me in the Porsche, you do get a certain amount of tunnel vision though yes. Frank, no car injuries last time (apart from a skyline which blew up!) |

Lou, you can do this in the USA no problem. They have legal races in Nevada and Texas on highways with a speed trap to measure your speed. Different safety regulations depending on the car's speed, with the fastest cars breaking 200mph all the time. Check out http://www.openroadracing.com/ for one possibility or http://www.bborr.com/ for another. |

Craig: about the picture, what are you trying to say? You're not man enough to redline that litl' porsche? just kidding. Great pic. Does tunnelvision start to occur at 181 mph yet? |

probably starting around 10.30/11am, if you were coming early I'd make sure you got some good 1st runs. Yes you could pay on the day as long as I knew you were definitely coming. |

yep, no such worries here, as long as its a private booking & everyone signs a disclaimer then you just turn up, no helmets & go mental. |

Sounds great! Too bad it would be tough to do here in the USA as the folks who set it up would get all exposed to personal liability and insurance issues . |

Hi all, Don't know if anyone interested but a few of us at work along with some folks from another site are hiring a 2 mile straight runway in the uk ON april 27th. We will mainly be doing maximum speed runs which will be electronically recorded but there are also some bends getting to and from the straight so other fun to be had. This is a private booking, safety is paramount so we will be running 2 cars next to each other only at a time. the runway is smooth and very very wide (could actually run four cars if we wanted) You can read the report on our previous outing here: http://www.pistonheads.com/porsche/default.asp?storyId=6264 We have lots of exotic cars coming, Porsches, TVR's, other F Cars and V fast Audi's, a Diablo & possibly a Viper and Cobra. I have a few spaces free so let me know. Cost approx 155 ukp per car for around 5-8 runs. Cheers, Craig. |
