$5-10K?? The engine out 30K service is already $6,500 at the Dealer. Again, not all cars were affected. Ask your Dealer what precntage of cars actually were affected. Ahhh... |

I think 20k is if they blow - to fix the problem before hand should not be that much - maybe 5-10 inclusive with a 30k service |

My local dealer tried steering me away from the 95's and said fixing the valve guides would run $20k. that seems prety high. is it really that much ? |

I dont know if that is correct. The 355 look s actually better in any other color than red. (my opinion) I would live to have a silver or yellow or dark blue. The interior color makes a large difference. bright red is not an option under NO cirumstances. |

Color also affects value...Rosso Corsa, Yellow and Black comand more money than Rosso Barchetta, blue, silver, white, etc. I've been shopping for a 95 355 myself and my mechanic also says that on most cars the valve issue was either taken care of already or it wasn't affected. |

Not interested in yellow, but thanks anyway. Would prefer silver or blue.... Scott |

There is a yellow one here for sale in Miami that I know the owner of. He is asking $ 82 but would sell for $77K. His car was services at the F-dealer with 15K service and has currently 21K Miles. yellow black, 1995.

I paid $91 in September from an authorized dealer but my car had the soft valves taken care of with full documentation. There is no telling if the valves will go bad. I would bring this situation up with them and see if they would take care of it if the valves go. $90 is on the high end I would say given that the valves are a pretty big unknown. Low to mid 80s is probably the right price. What is the asking? |

Dave, I'm not sure that cracked headers are limited to the '95. I have a '97 that's had the right side header replaced at 15,000 miles and the left side repaired shortly thereafter. I've heard of other owners that have had a similar experience. Fortunately it was a warranty claim since it's covered under the mandatory 7 year Federal emissions warranty. Tim |

Scott, the 1995 F-355s had a soft valve problem. However, not all cars were affected. If it were to be problematic on this particular car, then the issue would have surfaced by the 15K mileage mark (and been rectified). There are a handful of 1995s out there that have never had any head work done and were never plagued. It is truly hit and miss as it randomly appeared (no set on VIN #s, etc). |

Scott, See if the valves have been done. If the engine was out @ 15k I would say so. Also the GTB are a lot less then the GTS or spiders. 75k-85k is fair |

This car is from a dealer and would come with a one year Ferrari Plus Power Train warranty, although I don't know if it would cover the valve guides or headers. SD |

95's were prone to premature valve guide wear and cracked headers. Both expemsive to fix. That's why 95's are quite a bit cheaper than late years. DAve |

one exactly like that color and year sold in Dallas last month for $75K from a small dealer and it had 27K miles. Others have paid up to $91K. So in that range. |

I am now looking at a 1995 355 Berlinetta that is dark red/tan and has 16,000 miles. It has complete service records and a recent engine out belt and water pump service (a few months ago at a Ferrari dealer) This is a 1 owner car that has never been hit and has had no paintwork either. It also has a recently installed Tubi exhuast. Since I have been looking at 348's, this is obviously something very different and once I drove a 355, there is no going back to a 348 (very bad for the wallet...) What is a fair price for this car and will it be difficult to resell a 355 that is a hardtop... What trouble spots should I be looking for?? Thanks, Scott |
