It is especially noticeable at start up and idle. My neighbor's stock 328 and my 308 sounded about the same before this. Now the 308 is quite a bit deeper and throatier and sounds more "powerful" than the 328. If you'd like to hear what it sounds like, and you've got good computer speakers with a subwoofer, go to www.TradeTutor.com/photos/

At speed, it is louder but not unpleasant. There is a slight resonance in the 3000rpm range (which I've heard is also true of a full Tubi system), but outside of that it is merely deeper. And it is "deeper" and less harsh than 308QVs I've heard that have straight a straight through rest pipe rather than Stebro's euro resonator, since the Stebro has that small expansion chamber with stainless steel wool. If you needed an overall percentage, I'd say perhaps 15-20% louder overall... just enough. But the feel of how fast it revs up without that constriction is quite noticeable.

Mike can you tell us how much louder it is without the cat in place?

I've got one on my 308QV with the stock muffler. Makes a BIG difference in feel as to how quickly it will rev up, and the sound is great. No big deal to install yourself. Biggest problem for me was one frozen bolt out of the six that I had to cut off with s dremel cutting wheel.

I received the stebro resonator today. It appears to be of very high quality. I will install it next week. My only complaint is that it does not look like a cat. Upon ordering it I was told it looks very similar to a cat. No big deal.

Ken,

I have a stebro exhaust on my GT4. It sounds GREAT!!!.

It is a little loud though for freeway driving and normal conversation. And forget about listening to the radio.

But oh it sounds so good...

I ordered the Stebro Euro Resonator earlier today for my 308QV. I do not like the idea of having a 2,000 degree piece of metal so close to my fuel and the chance of having a fire. In addition, it should free up the back pressure and sound much better. Several people have mentioned that the smell of the exhaust is a negative, but I do not think this will bother me (especially since I seat in the car and not behind the car). I am hoping that installation is easy. If anyone has any pointers I am all ears. Thanks.

Ken

P.S. I will try to photograph the installation, however, posting this on the web may not be the best idea.
