I had a BLAST in the 348 spyder when I went. I rented from DCR and they basically said, "Got money"? I said yes and they handed me the keys. I think I signed my name somewhere but don't recall.... Cocktails? j/k. Traffic was kinda bad on the strip but still had a blast. I didn't open it up too much after 3rd gear but I got to laugh while I smoked a ricer.... and it's all in my next video. :D Have a good time and be safe!

Oh, also, get your friend to step out and get a couple of flybys on film!!!! It's soooo nice to watch you driving the car by at high speeds hearing the engine wine!!! You really need to do this!

I've decided to go for it. I just reserved the 360 Spider for 5/25!! This is gonna be sweet...

Now I'm trying to decided if I'd like to get the 348 too or get more miles for the 360....

Thanks guys, sincerely. Your comments helped a lot.

Luke.

I rented from Dream Car Rentals also (twice). Red 348 spyder both times. First time was great -
second time car was beat up pretty bad.

Stopped by front entrance to Belagio and car died!
Luckily, it looked as though it was just parked!
2 girls came over - "That's a neat car! What kind is it?" "Can we take a picture?"

So I opened the rear lid to see what was going on and get this....people literally swarmed over and around the car!!!! I freaked out! Truly a kodak moment. I had always heard about how people stare at you in an f-car - just didn't know it was that bad (fun though).

I have rented from them twice. First time was a Z06 Corvette and second time was a Viper. Everything went smoothly both times. The nearest thing to a complaint that I can even mention was that when they pulled the Viper up for me to rent, it had a flat tire and they hadn't even noticed. So I had to wait an hour while they took it off and down to a local filling station to have it fixed. But both rental experiences with them were positive overall and I'd recommend them without reservation. By the way, if/when you do it, make sure to drive through Red Rock Canyon for some nice curves, and then head a little west of there for some flat-out long straits for a few high speed passes. Both times I never encountered any radar traps so you should be safe for some fun runs.

I rented from Rent-A-Vette two years back. They seemed to have the best rates and cars but then they do try to get extra insurance from you at time of pick up unlike any other rental agency.
Otherwise very professional outfit

I rented from them too, several years ago. First a 500sl for a few days, up to the Grand Canyon and back, and then a (new at the time) C5 vette. They were reasonably priced, into cars and i had no issues with them.

Lucas:

I rented from Rent-A-Vette back in September and I found them to be neat guys to do business with. They really love the cars they rent! Now, be aware that the 348TS is white, not red. They had just sold the red one and gotten the white one...it's an '89 and when I was there it had only 12K miles on it. Ran perfectly the whole time but ALMOST didn't start once in the desert.

I found their prices to be better than Dream Car Rentals, and Dream Car Rentals all have a "Dream Car Rentals" license plate frame. Tacky. I like the anonymity of the plain plate from rent-a-vette.

They require your insurance to cover the car (call your agent!), but what they don't tell you is that if you do something that causes the car to be down for a day or longer, they charge you full rental price for EVERY DAY the car is down. I didn't think my insurance would cover that so I paid a little extra ($445 instead of $399 for the day in the 348) to MAXIMIZE my out-of-pocket liability to $3,000. It could have been a load of crap, just a way to get more money, but I wasn't taking any chances. I just signed and paid.

Total for my rental was $600, $450 plus 100 extra miles (@$.50 a mile) plus gas plus tax. Well worth it!

Another warning: here's my first post on this site, where I talked about how the rental led to my purchase of a '78 308!

Be careful and good luck!

Rented a 348, TR and 355 (in that sequence) from Dream Car Rentals in Las Vegas. Everything was great!
They scared the living daylights out of me with all the paperwork, but in reality were not terribly concerned once I brought the cars back.

The cars werent' in their best condition, but nevertheless it was a wonderful experience. Would do it again, this time with the 360 of course.

I recommend different drives. I took the 348 to the Hoover dam, the TR to a national park (forgot the name, but has a restaurant on top of the mountain) and the 355 to Red Rock park. All spectacular scenery. So yes, by all means bring a camera.

Last but not least: Drive them up and down the strip and watch the peoples' reactions. Priceless...

I rented a f-car from exotic car rentals in vegas a year ago. Surprisingly, they only asked for a $500 security deposit on a credit card and a copy of a driver's license to rent the car. Didn't ask for insurance or anything else. Strange since you can't fix much for $500, especially since I could have called the credit card company and disputed any charges.

Excellent experience!! Drove the cr*p out of the car for the day without a moments rest, except to fill back up with gas. Although ownership is wonderful, renting one allows you to try/do things you wouldn't do with your own or with someone you know.

By driving different cars, it allows you to determine what you're looking for, or not looking for, when purchasing one.

My only suggestion, if you're going to rent a 348 and a 360, do the 348 first since if you do it the other way around, you will be dissapointed the second day.

Lastly, remember a camera!

Enjoy.

I'm thinking about renting a 360 Spider and a 348ts -- each for a day -- from these folks when I go to Vegas some time in May. Does anyone here have any experience with them or any tips with regard to the process in general (exotic rental, that is)?

Thanks so much,

Luke.
