That was at the Marchetti farm in Lemont. Those were great events in the old days; beautiful 12 cylinder cars, professionally landscaped grounds, and Italian food and music. I looked forward to that day every summer. |

I remember seeing a 250 GTO Spyder in bare aluminum at Ferrari Fantasia years ago in (?) Plainfield, IL. 90's if memory serves(which she sometimes doesn't). I've got a picture somewhere... |

Hil used to drive the repro GTO around in it's bare aluminum. It looked pretty awesome with no paint also. |

Wow! Frank Beard's house is almost offensive! I knew I should have stuck with the guitar lessons! |

Yes, the first GTO Spyder Gerisch built was done in 1992 with help from Hillary Raab, Jr. It was constructed on a stripped out PF coupe chassis that Hil had had lying around since the late 1970s. There's a nice article in Prancing Horse #104 (3rd quarter, 1992) that covers the project.

Mark Gerisch also built a yellow GTO spyder for a well known Ferrari historian and collector in Indiana. It looks fantastic in yellow as well. |

I've got tricked! Yeah, it figures. I wasn't able to find it in the Ferrari history. But you have to admit that it is a pretty good replica. |

The car pictured here is s/n 3919 GT, a 250 GTE rebodied by Mark Gerisch's Von Genaddi Design of Manitowac, WI for ZZTop drummer Frank Beard. |

There were no factory GTO Spiders. The car shown was built or modified by someone other than the factory. |

Hello. Is the GTO Spyder hot or what...! http://www.conceptcarz.com/folder/vehicle.asp?car_id=605 Anyone out there who knows how many was made? I guess it is pretty hard to get hold of one, is there any kit car or replica producers that make this one.At a good quality? What is the pricetag on an original one in mint condition? Ooops, that was a lot of questions, but i'm just a bit eager to gain knowledge about this beautiful dream... |
