John,

The 348 is a beautiful car that allowed ferrari to then design some extremely new and innovative 8 cy. cars. Mine has almost 80k and runs strong. It has one little leak at the back of the transfer housing, but I followed some old threads and it's no big deal...ie fixed.

Make sure you drive it, not driving is a common problem for some. You car will thank you in the end.

John,

The only on-going problem I experience with my 348 is getting out of it.

John,

Do look at the archives on 348s. Most owners like myself are extremely happy with it but a few are often frustrated because I think the 348 model has the most # of systemic problems... from underated (amperage) alternator, to ECUs, cat thermocouples, electrical connections, etc. Good luck and hope you find a wonderful car.

if you search the arcives there are TONS of posts on this topic. seems there are a few owners who had problems, but the majority it seems have had a great experience. Like JRV said get a good mechanic to check it out and svc it and you should be fine.

Don't worry about 'things', just drive it and enjoy it. IMO the 348's are great cars and unduly poor mouthed. I'd own one any day.

In fact, don't worry near as much about the car as you do about finding quality mechanics that can service it right the first time.
Once you have the right people on your side it's a piece of cake.

What are the common ones???

As many here know, I am in a deal to buy one and I was wondering what are the most common problems with this model. A deal is signed for a car with 19000 miles on it, it does have the 30,000 mile service, should I aske for anything else to be don to the car????

Thanks
