I did fnd out it had landed in private hands in Minnesota prior to this ebay listing. I also noticed a major service was performed with cam belts change. The seller claims a mileage that is consistant with my ownership. The car has been driven less than 2K Km since I parted with it. It's one hell of a find for someone looking for a BB.

Whart, I don't know about remarrying my ex but I did think of buying back the boxer and decided I'd better stick to driving rather than waxing and admiring. I do respect people's preferences and think a BB can make its owner happy. As far as "heart stopping", I don't think I can take more of those; like when going down the back straight at Riverside at over 150mph and feeling the brake pedal go to the floor as I approached turn 9. I'm sure you agree, the car is beautiful, torqey and sounds great but a b**ch to steer and brake.

Tino: why not buy it back? I know people that have remarried the same spouse after divorcing them; bill marriott sold and then bought back one of his important ferraris. It sounds like you miss the car.... Even though the modern ones are more driveable and have a higher level of performance, the boxer i had was an inspired drive, and at lower rates of speed you could temporarily stop your heart, especially if you got the rear end out.

I will gladly give a visual inspection on it if we have anybody that is serious about buying it.

It's funny how sometimes the thread goes sideways, I WAS the owner for 21 years so no information is needed(I've got all the records since the day it came out of the Bologna dealership). This past year is the mystery and if it has bounced thru dealerships without private ownership, it is important to find out if it was just parked or abused. I started this thread because I would love to see it go to a good home just in case someone on this forum is looking for an immaculate BB(at least it was when it left my house). I am sure Martin can help check the car up.

Can't you just call the dealer selling it and ask. They have their phone# in the auction. Tell them you want to know the previous owner's phone to ask how everything is working. Tell them that you will absolutely not bid without talking the the PO first. I think most Ferrari owners are more than willing to talk about their cars openly, even past cars owned.

"Not in california". Likley right. Is in fact 100% for sure right. Anbody remember about 5-7 years age somone got the info. through the DMV, story eneded in murder. Sad but true. Through Cal. DMV there is for sure at least a "waiting period" where they actually give the person yopu are getting info on a heads up. Even then I think you need a really valid reason.

"Not in California. "

That is likely right....

Do you have any friends that are police officers?? I used to be a cop and we can run that stuff. But it was not really a public service so you would have to know the officer.

"You can run the serial number of the car at the DMV office and get the owners information."

Thanks Martin. I had hoped it found a good home but this is sad. If it has not been abused since, it may be one of the best BB's in existence (now that I don't own it, I guess I can say it)

Tino,
sad to hear you let her go. I guess with the move and all probably the best thing, still...

I know the guy who is the highest bidder right now. I sent him an e-mail vouching for your car. He would drive it but likely sell it soon. He goes through cars like underwear.

If he gets it I can keep track of it.

I was tired of babying the car and struggling with it on every outing. I'd already owned my 360 for a year and really appreciated a car you could really drive.

I'm heartbroken but maybe something good can come out of this. Last year after owning my 1981 BB (s/n 36961)for 21 years since new, I relunctantly decided to give it to my local F dealer on consignment. it was sold but for strange reasons, I could not get the real identity of the buyer; I assumed it had gone to the dealership's manager who was looking for a clean collector's BB or to some other real F guy. I've owned it since new and it had lived very well in my garage in Palos Verdes, CA since 1981; regularly driven but not much; it's the only F car I kept for so long. It was immaculate when it left home but needed new tires; all fuel lines and belts had been changed, it had about 14K Km. The car is unique because of the red NACA duct (just like the official BB sales brochure) and it had a unique crema interior with red inserts and red carpet. If anyone here at FChat is looking for a BB, please investigate but make sure it has not been mistreated since last year. Here is a picture of it when it left home. You can email me for any info.+++ jpeg +++ 234325 +++ Upload +++
