I looked at this in the pictures as well. Can only explain that as something they did for the pictures. Never seen one like that. Optical illusion? BTW I am looking at the same brochure.

on (slightly)the same subject, I bought the original GTB/GTS sales brochure on ebay. The 348's in it have what looks like a silver/chrome colour over every section of the black front grill (looks slightly tr'ish), mine hasnt, anyone else seen this ? |

JScott, glad to see one of the Chatters picked up the car. I looked at it as well (from far) but the price they were asking was insane! Enjoy. I am sure it is everyting you expect it to me. DVD goes in the trunk or better in the Caddy with the Chrome wheels! |

Martin: You are singing my tune. In Fresno the temp gets to over 105 in summer. Often for weeks at a time. The 328 only makes it if it's evening and the car has been parked in a cool place. If it has set in the sun at all, forget about it! |

Thanks a lot Jason. I spoke with the former owner a guy named Ray Williams. Said he loved the car but traded in on a TR. I have paid the bill so I guess I'll see it when it gets here. Do appreciate your offer. I know the belts need to be done even though the milage is 20K. My mechanic said not to worry but I want to get it done asap. Mid summer looks like the earliest available date. The guy at the dealer called and said that the rear tires were not as good as he represented so he is having new P-0's put on at no cost. I appreciate intergity and hope the car is as represented. By the time I ship, pay registration and do a major, I will be into it around $60K. I intend to remove the DVD player. I don't like the way it looks. Must be a better way than in the center armrest. Thanks all! Scott |

About two months ago they were asking $62k. I know that they haven't been able to sell it for anywhere near that price, so I'd say, not that you probably care, $50k is a good price. The interior was tip-top as far as the leather, carpets, etc. goes. The DVD screen was neat in that the it was hidden when it was off, but the DVD player was right behind the armrest and looks a little weird. The paint was great (although I didn't run my hand across it to see if there were any chips painted over). It did not have wheel spacers. If I remember correctly (and I may not be because there were two 348s there and I've seen a few others since) there was a very small crack or chip on the front spoiler on the passenger-half of the car. I did not look under the hood, test drive or anything else, so I can't comment on the mechanics. If you'd like me to do a little more in depth examination of the car, let me know. Otherwise, congrats. |

Thanks Jason: That is the car. Now I know that it will be changed! Martin, thanks, I think this time I'm going to get a bigger fish. Appreciate all the help. Jason, did the car look good to you? I've done what I can on research but am still buying sight unseen. Paid $50K. |

The only one I've seen with a red one is a 348ts for sale at Rocky Mountain Eurosport. If that's from whom you purchased your car, I've seen the horse and it's red. It's looks a bit odd in red, I must say. |

Thanks all, I thought the horse looked wrong, maybe it is just a reflection from the paint but it is hard to tell and I just haven't asked the seller yet. If it is wrong, I will get it corrected, don't like cheesy changes. I have a lot to learn about the 348. It starts now! |

In the 1989 press release map you have a drawing on the 2nd page of the front of the 348TB and it shows a chrome horse, yet on the rest of the press pictures you have no horse, just as they were produced. Some trivia I guess! |

Okay guys lets make this clear: On the Series Speciale (I am lookng at the sales brochure) there is a chrome horse in the front and the back! On the early TBs and TS the horse was black and there was no horse in the front. When they changed the badging to GTS and GTB and came with the Spider in late 1993 the Chrome horse came standard with the car in the front and back! Never was there a red horse. JScott, If you take the 6 screws out of the rear frame and take the grill off you can unscrew the horse pretty easy. There are places you can either buy a chrome horse or have the red horse repainted to flat black. You can possibly also get the horse chromed or silver painted as well. This is the answer to your question.

No on your new 348 it is red. This is wrong. They were originally black. I have seen others with the rear horse red, but looks cheap imo. Prior to the 93 speciale there was no horse in the front. I have seen many added in the front and rear. I like the chrome in the front and rear, looks great. |

From the picture of the car, which is all I have right now, the horse may be chrome and picking up a reflection from the paint. I will see. No prancing horse on the front. Can't wait to park the 348 next to the 328 and contemplate which one to drive! |

Congrats on your purchase! Did you keep your 328 as well? The red prancing horse is incorrect. I'm not familiar with the earlier cars but the 94 and later 348 spiders had chrome horses front and rear. Here is an example of the front: |

scott, welcome to the 348 family. The way I understood it the 348's had no horse on the front. PERIOD. The rear horse was black. the Series Special, added chrome horses on the front and back....if your car has a horse on the front, it was probably added later by the owner....the rear was originally black, someone painted it red....chrome ones on Speciale Series were standard. Good LUCK!! |

Besides the spiders, the '92 and '93 speciales also have the chrome horses front and back. Never heard of a stock red horse badge. |

Red on the back? New to me. I have seen some that are chrome and some that are black. Never red. Can't help you on the front. All the 348's, except for the spiders, have not had them |

I just purchased a 92 348ts. Since I'm new to the 348, just a question. I notice that some 92's have the prancing horse on the front grill and some don't. Which is correct? Also, the prancing horse on the rear of my car is red, I noticed that on a yellow car it is black. Is this correct? I suspect not. Thanks to you 348 experts. |
