I AM UTTERLY SPEECHLESS AT THE MOMENT. I just got back from looking at all of the cars while they are here in New Orleans. The are all at the Windsor Court Hotel. They will be leaving around 7:30am tomorrow. They had about 20 cars parked outside and bunch of them in a secured parking garage. We talked with the security guy to try to let us take a look, and he was cool enough to let us see the Koenigsegg from about 50 feet away. Very nice of him to do. Unbeknownest to me our luck would increase exponentially. About 20 minutes later my friend Steve and happened to run into a friend of mine who works at the hotel. He was able to get Steve and I into the garage. It was incredible!!! The Koenigsegg was being ripped apart to fix a transmission problem. So we got to have an up close and personal view of it. Pics to follow a la the venerable Steve(F1 Gearhead). F50 was gorgeous as well. Several Murcielagos, 360s, a couple 355s, GT2 and GT3 porches, the whole nine yards. I will be going back tomorrow morning(5 hours from now) to watch the sendoff. I also sat in my first ferrari tonight, a 360F1 Spider. What a great feeling! I had to close my eyes and blip the paddles all while imagining myself flying through Eau Rouge at Spa. Ok, now I have to figure out how to bring myself back to reality so I can get some sleep before the sendoff. More to come... |

West Texas gets taste of gumball street race; troopers try to control ERIN QUINN San Angelo Standard Times Staff Writer San Angelo, TX, April 21 - Texas highway troopers had no time to hunt for eggs or eat brisket and mashed potatoes Easter Sunday. They were too busy trying to control 150 Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Aston Martins, Porsches, Morgans, Bentleys, old classic cars, 60s and 70s muscle cars, limousines and a Blues Brothers police car speeding down Interstate-10 at 140 mph. The ''world's most amazing cavalcade'' of cars and their celebrity drivers were part of the Gumball Rally 3000 street race from San Francisco to Miami, according to the event's Web site. The race was kicked off on the 17th in San Francisco starting with a procession lap of the city led by Mayor Willy Brown. The next day, participants stopped in Las Vegas, followed by Tucson the next day, San Antonio on Easter, New Orleans on Monday and finally Miami on Tuesday. The drivers, or ''Gumballers,'' range from racecar drivers, supermodels, billionaires, DJs, Playboy bunnies, extreme sports stars and the crew from MTV's Jackass, the Web site said. The race boasts to be ''possibly the greatest array of cars and their star drivers ever assembled on the public road,'' the Web site said. While most drivers chose I-10 to make their way through Texas, others chose Highway 67 and the back roads, a dispatcher at the Department of Public Safety Kerrville said. She said 20 of the drivers took their license plates off of their cars in Van Horn. And, participants used computers and radar in an attempt to hold off seemingly inevitable speeding tickets. The troopers wanted to slow the groups down, but still let them have fun, the dispatcher said. Each year, the ''Gumballers'' take a different 3000-mile route. Last year, they drove from London to Russia and back, the Web site said.

You need to get the divx codecs installed. It will play under quicktime no problem once they codecs are installed. Good vid too, man Ferrari's do sound soooo sweet at rev. I was suprised how quiet the SRT-10 is, I remembered them being much louder up close. My viper is pretty friggin loud...wake the neighbors LOL James |
