Mitchel: I don't think you're too far over the top. Earlier this month I had a birthday party. Couldn't find any Italian beer, so we used NW microbrew. The GT4 didn't seem to want any, so I had to drink it's share.

Wow, Frank...I did not realize that...thanks for the info. BTW, does the owners site provide this info. on F-cars as recent as mine? I was under the impression that this was only available for older pre-80's vehicles.

Mitchel is correct...I received one of these as well after calling and faxing an inquiry to FNA. It stated that my car was "born" on November 15, 1984. It includes other info. also, such as Date Shipped, Original Dealer, Original Exterior & Interior, Model Type, Model Year, and VIN. Rather basic information, but informative in any case.

FNA also offers a "Build Sheet" for your specific F-Car, but the cost for this document is $1,000.00 -- and you must prove that you are the legitimate owner of the car.

For what it's worth, FNA considers the following either confidential or as not kept on file: Ownership Info., Warranty Records, and Service Records. So, hopefully the owner can trace this down either from existing records in possesion, or via the dealer network.

BTW, here's some past discussions about this...including a pic of one of these FNA "birth certificates"....

I just got a letter from Enzo Francisco(sp?) from FNA and his letter told me of my car's "birthday" of May 4 1984, and that it was a genuine USA car and the color codes. My car will be 19 years old in a couple of weeks. I am thinking of having a cake made, it that too far...is that the brink of madness?

FYI: surf "Vintage" "Historic archive" then "Heritage Certificate".

However, note the following: "Heritage Certificates are available for all carburettor models produced up until 1980."

So, is this sort of information available for the 70,000 or so cars produced in the 23 years since 1980????

Ferrari Owner's Site. Follow the links.

4/3/75. Oddly enough, my grandfather was born 4/3. Only it was 1894. Come to think of it, this car could have been built then.

If you get a heritage sheet, it will give you that info.

My car was "born" on April 16, 1975

the door plate on our cars shows the month they were built.

is there some way to find out the exact date they were declared "done"?
