Enjoy the Music ("Autobahn" by Kraftwerk right now),

Steven R. Rochlin

"Wir fahr'n fahr'n fahr'n auf der Autobahn

Vor uns liegt ein weites Tal
Die Sonne scheint mit Glitzerstrahl

Die Fahrbahn ist ein graues Band
Weisse Streifen, grüner Rand

Jetzt schalten wir ja das Radio an
Aus dem Lautsprecher klingt es dann:
Wir fahr'n auf der Autobahn..."

Hast Du etwas Zeit fuer mich
Dann singe ich ein Lied fuer Dich
Von 99 Luftballons
Auf ihrem Weg zum Horizont
Denkst Du vielleicht grad' an mich
Dann singe ich ein Lied fuer Dich
Von 99 Luftballons
Und dass sowas von sowas kommt 99 Luftballons
Auf ihrem Weg zum Horizont
Hielt man fuer UFOs aus dem All
Darum schickte ein General
'ne Fliegerstaffel hinterher
Alarm zu geben, wenn's so waer
Dabei war'n da am Horizont
Nur 99 Luftballons
99 Duesenjaeger
Jeder war ein grosser Krieger
Hielten sich fuer Captain Kirk
Das gab ein grosses Feuerwerk

John,

At this time i choose to plead "no comment" as allowed according to the 5th Amendment from the Bill Of Rights/Constitution of the United States.

Amendment V

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

Because... We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Speaking of Vanilla Ice, I read recently where he acknowledged that he had sunk all of his money into Florida land/real estate a number of years ago, and just watched it go up & up & up. Now he is, at 34, a bit of a real estate mogul in that state, worth FAR more than he was at the height of his music earning powers. Sounds like he was one smart honky!!

Jesse,

Alas, do not remember that one, but DO remember all the "Breakin'" movies. In fact that was Ice T's debut as well. He debuted what is now referred to as "gangster rap". As i see those movies today, it is in a sense historical. Was a DJ in the 80's and have virtually all Sugar Hill original DJ vinyl pressings (VERY collectable and worth major $$$ now).

i remember looking for more break dancing music about a decade ago and the sales clerks looks at me like a dog who just heard a VERY high-pitched sound. Amazing how it has come back remixed and sampled. Of course break Dance music was the first time a turntable was used as a type of musical instrument. Break dance helped birth hip hip that helped to birth rap. Then eventually came trip hop/house/trance... Ahhh, know thy history.

Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five, Melle Mel & Duke Bootee, West Street Mob ...

PS: if you listen to "The Adventures Of Grandmaster Flas On The Wheels Of Steel" song you will note where it all "beagn". Like sand in the hour glass, so are the days of our lives...

Enjoy the Music ("Rappers Delight" on VERY RARE DJ vinyl right now),

Steven R. Rochlin

"i said a hip hop
the hippie the hippie
to the hip hip hop, a you dont stop the rock it

to the bang bang boogie, say up jumped the boogie
to the rhythm of the boogie, the beat

now what you hear is not a test--i'm rappin to the beat
and me, the groove, and my friends are gonna try to move your feet
see i am wonder mike and i like to say hello
to the black, to the white, the red, and the brown, the purple and yellow
but first i gotta bang bang the boogie to the boogie
say up jump the boogie to the bang bang boogie
let's rock, you dont stop
rock the riddle that will make your body rock
well so far you've heard my voice but i brought two friends along

and next on the mike is my man hank
come on, hank, sing that song..."

Philip,

"Oh yeah, that's the breaks.
Let me get a little of this base groove right here.

A dooreaar dooreah dooreaar dooreah.

Ah yeah, now I told y'all a little about myself
Lemme tell y'all a little about this dance.
It's real easy to do, check it out.

First I limp to tha sounds like my legs is broken
Shakin' and twitchen' kinda like I was smokin'
Crazy whack funky.
People say you look like MC Hammer on crack Humpty.

That's aaiit 'cause my body's in motion.
It's supposed to look like a fit or a commotion.
Anyone can play this game.
It's my dance y'all Humpty Hump's my name.
No two people will do it the same
Ya got it down, when you appear to be in pain.

Humpin' funkin' jumpin' gig around
Shakin' your rump
And when a dude or chump ups and points a finger like a stump
You tell him to step off I'm doin' the hump."

Enjoy the Music,

Steven R. Rochlin

Accepted. I have never listened to Vanilla Ice, so I wouldn't know if he would say anything like that.

Tim, I don't think we are behind over here at all. Actually, I think it's quite the other way around. Regarding some things that is.

I think our cars, clothes and gouvernment is more modern over here. We sure have the coolest cars :-) (Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, De Tomaso, Rolls, Jag, Bentley and so on)

Then I think you guys over there have a more modern way of building structures/buildings. Very modern. We could learn alot there.

Jonas,

No hard feelings. I just agreed with Steven's comparison. And I think Steve's 'mother' comment was in relation to the song's lyrics not "your" mother. Anyways, it's all in good fun. I can remember back when I thought Vanilla Ice was cool, in fact, when I was in Germany in 2000 he actually made a semi-comeback there by re-mixing his hit "Ice Ice Baby" to some punk-rock grooves. But then again, a lot of Germans idolized David Hasselhof. Anyways take care.

P.S. Pimped-Out version of Justin Timberlake :-)

It's all good.

Enjoy the Drive,

Steven R. Rochlin

PS: Vanilla Ice is actually a great guy. It was his trusting in the marketing folks that was his downfall. He was a prop for the music industry and they used him, then abandoned him to take the fall. He now resides in Florida i believe and does MANY extreme sports. In the end he got screwed by the music execs and now has fun, owns a business doing Xtreme sports.

Isn't Justin the one that was doing Britney?
OH.........MY........ G-D, he was. Then i'll take that as an insult :-) (Seriously) Wouldn't touch Ms. NO TALENT with Ice Ice Baby's... She really has no talent IMHO and she should thank G-d for her looks and marketing managers because that is all she has. Just follow the lip-sync espress Britney.

"...I'm sick with this.
Straight gangsta mack.
But sometimes I get ridiculous.
I eat up all tha crackers and tha licorace.

Hey yo fat girl, come here
Are ya ticklish?
Yeah, I called ya fat
Look at me I'm skinny.
It never stopped me from gettin' busy.

I'm a freak.
I like the girls with the boom.
I once got busy in a Burger King bathroom.

I'm crazy.
Allow me to amaze thee.
They say I'm ugly but it just don't faze me.
I'm still gettin' in tha girls pants
And I even got my own dance.

Vanilla Ice = Silly = me

Jim, you haven't made fun of me. So I respect you.

I don't approve making fun of people while they are present themselves. If behind their back, without them knowing - I could live with it, cuz' I wouldn't know of it. But those idiot's saying like that to my face, about my looks, even mixing my mother in to it. They can go to hell.

"Ice Ice Baby"

Yo, VIP, Let's kick it!

Ice Ice Baby, Ice Ice Baby
All right stop, Collaborate and listen
Ice is back with my brand new invention
Something grabs a hold of me tightly
Then I flow like a harpoon daily and nightly
Will it ever stop? Yo -- I don't know
Turn off the lights and I'll glow
To the extreme I rock a mic like a vandal
Light up a stage and wax a chump like a candle.

Dance, Bum rush the speaker that booms
I'm killing your brain like a poisonous mushroom
Deadly, when I play a dope melody
Anything less than the best is a felony
Love it or leave it, You better gain way
You better hit bull's eye, The kid don't play
If there was a problem, Yo, I'll solve it
Check out the hook while my DJ revolves it

Ice Ice Baby Vanilla, Ice Ice Baby Vanilla
Ice Ice Baby Vanilla, Ice Ice Baby Vanilla

Now that the party is jumping
With the bass kicked in, the Vegas are pumpin'
Quick to the point, to the point no faking
I'm cooking MCs like a pound of bacon
Burning them if they're not quick and nimble
I go crazy when I hear a cymbal
And a hi hat with a souped up tempo
I'm on a roll and it's time to go solo
Rollin' in my 5.0
With my ragtop down so my hair can blow
The girlies on standby, Waving just to say Hi
Did you stop? No -- I just drove by
Kept on pursuing to the next stop
I busted a left and I'm heading to the next block
That block was dead

Yo -- so I continued to A1A Beachfront Ave.
Girls were hot wearing less than bikinis
Rockman lovers driving Lamborghinis
Jealous 'cause I'm out geting mine
Shay with a gauge and Vanilla with a nine
Reading for the chumps on the wall
The chumps acting ill because they're so full of "Eight Ball"
Gunshots ranged out like a bell
I grabbed my nine -- All I heard were shells
Falling on the concrete real fast
Jumped in my car, slammed on the gas
Bumper to bumper the avenue's packed
I'm trying to get away before the jackers jack
Police on the scene, You know what I mean
They passed me up, confronted all the dope fiends
If there was a problem, You, I'll solve it
Check out the hook while my DJ revolves it

Ice Ice Baby Vanilla, Ice Ice Baby Vanilla
Ice Ice Baby Vanilla, Ice Ice Baby Vanilla

Take heed, 'cause I'm a lyrical poet
Miami's on the scene just in case you didn't know it
My town, that created all the bass sound
Enough to shake and kick holes in the ground
'Cause my style's like a chemical spill
Feasible rhymes that you can vision and feel
Conducted and formed, This is a hell of a concept
We make it hype and you want to step with this
Shay plays on the fade, slice like a ninja
Cut like a razor blade so fast, Other DJs say, "damn"
If my rhyme was a drug, I'd sell it by the gram
Keep my composure when it's time to get loose
Magnetized by the mic while I kick my juice
If there was a problem, Yo -- I'll solve it!
Check out the hook while Deshay revolves it.

Ice Ice Baby Vanilla, Ice Ice Baby Vanilla
Ice Ice Baby Vanilla, Ice Ice Baby Vanilla

Yo man -- Let's get out of here! Word to your mother!

Ice Ice Baby Too cold, Ice Ice Baby Too cold Too cold
Ice Ice Baby Too cold Too cold, Ice Ice Baby Too cold Too cold

P.S.
Jonas,
If you want to take a free swing at me I'll be in Holland next month :-) Peace!

Bwaaahaaaahaaaa! :-)
I've been trying to figure out who Jonas reminded of since the "shirt pic" incident. Good call.

Hi Dave...good to see you back!

So, does this sound like a potential F-car in your future? Keep me posted! Feel free to shoot me an e-mail sometime (new address is in my profile).

Oops, better stay on topic...here's a horrible pic taken at Mt. Dora during a torrential rainstorm back in '02 (sorry, it's not an F-car)...

LOL Dave.

And Luke they indeed love a pair of 1200 with Ortofon stylus. Those were MK II (i think). MAN i really wanted those gold 1200s they were selling many years ago but funds were tight back then :-( Now what do we have??? CD players with auto beat matching, "digital vinyl" that sync's with the pre-programmed music on your laptop. Remember when DJing took actual talent??

Then again the same can be said for being a pop singer. We now have pitch correction, digital harmonizers, multi-echo/reverb/etc. Pro Tools, Cakewalk... Who needs talent when you can fix it in the mix and digital correct it all to "perfection"? 37 channels of vocal track takes to pick and choose from to dice and slice ONE good vocal track like they do with Britney (seriously).

Billie Holiday, Miles Davis, Joe Pass, Ella, Brubeck... Ahhh, but i digress...

Reminds me of F1. Before we know it that BMW commercial with them playing with their actual F1 cars like RC cars may come true. Who needs drivers??? Just program via a type of "in-car MIDI" and race... All the digital precision we can muster...

Enjoy the Music (Zappa "Joe's Garage" right now on VINYL),

Steven R. Rochlin

"A boring garage in a residential area with a teen-age band rehearsing in it.
JOE (the main character in the CENTRAL SCRUTINIZER's Special Presentation) sings
to us the trials and tribulations of garage-band husbandry.

Joe-
It wasn't very large
There was just enough room to cram the drums
In the corner over by the Dodge
It was a fifty-four
With a mashed up door
And a cheesy little amp
With a sign on the front said "Fender Champ"
And a second hand guitar
It was a Stratocaster with a wammy bar..."

Ok Ok.. Some observations.

Jonas looks like Vanilla Ice. Word to your mother.

Noel, you da man but we all want to know... do they all "play" together and include you?

Jason, she has AMAZING eyes!!! i am in awe and great shirt to match her eye color. Model material for sure!

GEEK ALERT! GEEK ALERT!

Martin, you are correct in saying "Finance". And you felt maintaining Ferrari cars were expensive LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jimmy Page is amazing!

And no, no more pics of me nearly naked... unless you send me $25 for each photo and sign a "for private use only, nondistribution agreement". Guess i am officially Mr. Ferrari Chat Mr. Rob. Does this mean i get to appear in the yearly calendar? Will provide professional photos once my new, extensive Armani wardrobe comes in during the next week or so.

And as for one of my ex's wearing undies... This was during my DJ years back in Gainesville (Go Gators!). Enjoy guys...

Ok, I'll play. This is 20 hours into ownership of the car, near the top of Loveland Pass in Colorado. If you look over my shoulder you'll see the steam rising from a busted water pump.

steve,

You mention you "wrote for one of your articles"....do you mind me asking what your profession is, or if you'd care not to answer, is there a site that I could read some of your articles or any publications you would suggest. Please feel free to email me privately if you would prefer to do that....my address is on my profile.
Thanks

Philip

Frank,

A most humble thanks. Frankly, life has been very hard for me at times including active addiction, being homeless, etc. The "horror" stories run long and deep :-( Still, would not change my life as it has allowed me to become the person you experience today... Very grateful and truly appreciate a beautiful sunrise... warm summer breezes... a good cigar... and MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL, family and friends.

Something i recently wrote in one of my articles...

"In life we have many choices. Being of service to others is admirable, yet we also need to remain true to ourselves. Self sacrifice may be good in life, so long as it is balanced within the scheme of things. For me it is all about those and also in following your dreams. Reach for the stars, the sun, and the moon... but never forget where you came from and never achieve your goals at the expense of hurting others. In death, success is not measured by how much money you have or how many material objects you own. Instead, it is measured by how many people are crying because you are gone forever. It is also how many lives you have positively touched and people you have helped. This is especially true if they never realized it was made better because of you."

Enjoy the Drive,

Steven R. Rochlin

Philip,

MANY thanks for the invite my friend and if you recall her name PLEASE let me know via private e-mail so i can re-label the photo in my huge archives.

As for getting together, a most humble thanks for the very generous offer yet have never been to Ohio. If you find yourself in New England feel free to e-mail me. Life here is VERY casual... i'll gladly supply the cigars, wine... and possible entertainment :-)

Enjoy the Drive,

Jack and Philip,

Jack, she is indeed a video star. Soooo many have passed under the bridge of life that (embarrassed) i forget her name. This photo was taken about five years ago. Not willing to freely release newer material to the public domain.

Jack, it is ALWAYS best to make the most of the materials you have on hand :-) As i recall in my faded memory, she has a nice suspension, ample headlights and a very well designed bumper. Of course in the end what REALLY matters is that YOU...

Enjoy the Drive,

If you get a wireless nic card, You can increase your ferrarichat time +4 hours. Your laptop can replace a magazine if you catch my drift. ;)
