Ask FNA if they will hold a party at one of the "Guest ranches" in Carson City Yumm $4500 seems very steep to drive the 200 or so miles from Tahoe to Monterey. My personal record was 2 hours 15 minutes from Reno to San Francisco in my Countach back around 95 |

I did the Colorado and New York State FNA Challange rallies. Colorado was the best, a beautiful scenic blur, segement times that required some really high speed cruising on the flats (130+) to catch up after the grinding mountain climbs and descents behind lines of campers. Great social events and a great collection of cars and people. They included hillclimbs and autocrosses as part of your overall score: these times added to your rally stage errors determined the standings. Gas and rest room stops were included in the stage times which required some F1 type pit stop execution. Bring a good re-setable time of day to the second clock. Maybe 2 for backup. Worth the $4500 which is comparable to other 1000 mile rallies. Have fun. I can't make this one. |

Bill, also look at the Highlands Inn just north of Big Sur. If you have not stayed there, or don't care to, at least try their restaurant. Worth it!!! Not sure if we're doing the rally. FNA sent us the promo brochure. We'll see... |

i'm going too.Passed on the one held in the adirondacks a few years ago, cause they were staying at the Sagamore on Lake George (Lame-O) and tooling around in what amounts to my backyard, sort of. Have no idea whether it will be worth it. One point we should bust FNA's balls on; they have made no provision for those of us who are paying to go on this trip to have any thing special (even a port o jon) at the Monterey events. A tent might be nice. Or some little get together. Whatever. Call 'em and whine. BTW, i'm planning on staying at the Post Ranch in Big Sur. I'm sure traffic will be a problem, but that hotel is definitely worth every penny. |

I am going...request the video and look at the fun they had last year. I figure this is a great way to start the Monterey weekend, just wish they were doing it next year when FCA is down there. - JMG |

Is anyone going to this event in August? Has anyone attended any of these events in previous years? Is it worth the $4500 FNA is charging? The info is on the Ferrarina website. |
