Now I remember reading that some Co was building 30 550 or 575 race cars. Cant remember the mag or the Co. 1 of the 550 race teams managed to get some backdoor technical assistance from Ferrari A real 575 Spyder with a top like the MB55SL would rock |

Is the official 575 GT racer project still on? I heard that NordAuto was contracted to made them (as opposed to Michelotto), but I heard that they changed their names to AutoDelta ever since they won the Euro Touring Car series with an Alfa 147 GTA. BTW, wasn't the FIA GT racers technically private entries which received no assistance from the Ferrari Client Racer Department? All of them were ex-ProDrive cars, I recall. This is of course different from the 360 GTs, where all of them were made completely with Ferrari SpA's blessing.

In the most recent issue of Forza the 575M F1 was tested. They loved the car all but the F1 transmisssion. They claimed it made the car lurch at slow speeds and they smelled a clutch burning ordor every time they stopped in traffic. They said they would have even preferred an automatic slush-box over the F1 . They really wanted a regular six speed stick though. I agee with their opinion that while F1 racing spotlights new high tech driver's aids, that doesn't mean a Ferrari road car should. A Ferrari road car should give the driver the total driving experience that the F1 transmission, traction control and other drivers' aids takes away. Just mine, and Forza's opinion. What do you think ? |

I agree, dump the Barchetta concept and give me a true 575 F1 spider with a power top like the 360. I would buy one in a heartbeat. |

a 575 GTR would be wicked cool: I could be convinced to get 1 Or do a series of Barchettas, not some Mega$ limited edition, make it like the 360 Spyder, just an option. & get shrink the roll hoops that are too big for the Barchetta |

As they did with the 550 Maranello before it was replaced with the 575 , do you guys think Ferrari will launch a limited/special edition 575 before they replace it ? I read somewhere that Luca was so please with the 1/2/3 the 550 Maranello did in the Fia GT that he wasnt against a small run of 575 GTR road cars ? Or maybe a 575 Barchetta with paddle shifts only ? Any thoughts ? |
