Looking through the recent registrations for this event is interesting. Originally, the theme of the event centered around the 250 sports racers, because we had several Ferrari 250s coming (of particular interest we had (3) of them that raced together in the 1962 LeMans race.

But, it turns out we will have a gaggle of Ferrari supercars, so the theme may change. It now looks like out of the 60 or so spots, (11) will be the modern supercar variety:

(5) F40s!
(2) F50s,
(2) 288GTOs,
(2) Enzos.

These cars are a modern tribute to the famous 60s sports racers, (racecars that could be driven to the track, raced, and back) so maybe the theme has not changed. We will certainly drive to the racetrack, race, and drive back, just as they were designed for!

Several F-chatters confirmed already.

Thanks, Matt. And I was just kidding about the steaks. Besides that would be cruel and unusual punishment to make that 3 hour drive and have to smell that steak the whole way! LOL! :-)

Dave:

I really want you to come. We are not going to mail out as many as we did last year. But you can download the registration form from "www.vip-llc.com" and fax it in. It will be accepted if you do it soon.

Or if you like send me your address and I will send you a hard copy.

We have some major support this year from Ferrari and Pirelli and all of it is fed into the event. It will be spectacular this year.

Matt:

The concorso and the track event will be open to spectators for a nominal charge. Contact 504-636-1040 and speak to Lance Broussard for more info on this.

John, one of my very good friends and I took his 355 Challenge car to Watkins Glen this past September for a FOC event. He toughened my stomach then but I'll give you a chance to toss my cookies!

I was told the Royal Sonesta on Bourbon St. and Windsor Court were two decent places to stay for first time New Orleans visitors. Are those close enough to these events?

We probably won't bring the Ferrari as it is a 6-hour drive from Tallahassee, but writing this event in INK on the calendar!

John, is it possible to attend the concourse as a spectator only? My wife and I have been looking for a great reason to visit New Orleans. What better excuse than a Ferrari event?
