Wayne,

Auto Gallery Service department is top notch. I use them frequently.

I found the sales department....well.....I rate them about the same level has a used car lot. Annoying, Arrogant, and just uninformed.

Wayne
Ask them to install an Andresson/race quick disconect battery female for you. It will look cool and will enable you to charge as well as jump easily if needed.

Wayne, good luck with the order... Auto Gallery is very reputable... have spoken to the service manager, Alan Johnson many times... top notch and very professional. Have not taken my car there yet but from what I hear, the sales/service staff are both incredible.

I have a Battery Tender on every car I own, including (F-cars): 275GTS, 550M, and 360 Spider. None have had any issues.

I use one - recommended and installed by my official ferrari dealer. For their cars in storage, the do the same thing when no charger option is present.

Battery Tender and the cigarette lighter? Uhh, this is Ferrari chat, right? (not Toyota chat or Ford chat or Porsche chat?)

Common Ferrari wisdom says the hyper-sensitive Ferrari electronics will not survive application of power anywhere unexpected. In fact, the first step in Ferrari directions is to turn off the main power switch, which electrically isolates the battery from the rest of the car. Then you charge just the battery, remove the charger, and then turn back on the main power switch.

Has anybody actually used a Battery Tender on a Ferrari?

Albert is right, you only need to buy a Battery Tender for $59.95 + the cigarette plug in adaptor for $9.99. No need to spend more. Porsche also makes a very nice battery charger that plugs into the cigarette receptor for $69.99.

Steve Harris Imports installs a charger on all its new autos if they are not ordered with a OEM charger. I think the cases are neoprene

The charger when ordered with the car is about a $900 option. Purchased and installed seperately would run over 3k. Or you can get an aftermarket charger installed for $50...;-)

Brian,

The battery charging kit consists of an "intelligent" charger in a nifty leather case and a pre-wired plug installed in the trunk to connect it to.

BTW, I am first on the list to receive a Stradale at my dealer and as of Friday they had no order information and stuck by their "early 2004 delivery" guidance.

Will harness, lexan, and rollbar be options in the US? (Harness and rollbar are options on the Modena in Europe, but not approved in the US.)

My choices would include Harness, Rollbar, Extinguisher, and either CD Radio or Radio Nav System. Also may end up with some color options... but that all depends.

On the battery charging kit... what is that? I've certainly had to crawl under the dash in my Modena to charge the battery enough times that it might make sense... depending upon what it is and what the price is.

Well just got off the phone the salesman claims he will input the order today. I opted for Rosso
Scuderia ext, black seats red piping interior,
(thanks Jim )fire ext, racing seat belts and rollbar if available. He claims 4-5 months for delivery. I've owned 6 Ferraris but none since 1988, I'm actually excited about this one.

If the seats and belts and sliding window is not an option you can surely order these "options" as parts in Europe and install them afterwards.

Seeing your profile picture I am sure you will track that baby!

Wayne,

When you say "placing an order with dealer Monday", do you mean "getting on the list" or "my spot on the list has come up and we are sending off the order to the factory for delivery in about 4 months"???

I ask because I wasn't expecting the first deliveries to the US until Nov, and thus the first orders shouldn't be going in for at least a couple more months. And as a result, I didn't think the option list for the US had been finalized yet. If you get an options list, please post it.

(I, too, am on the list for a new Stradale.)

They had one at the Ferrari dinner at the NY Auto Show. Looked great. They told me the sliding windows aren't available in the US, nor are the racing seatbelts, and you had the choice of fabric or leather. The stripe is an option and I think the US car has different seats. The Black Fabric interior with red piping looked great as did the Rossa Barchetta. The stripe was better in real life as well.
Congrats!

Wayne what about your new Viper? Do you have it or are you selling it?

For information on the Stradale go to the Renn Team site. I believe Luigi is ordering one.

Do a search on Stradale. There was a member on here a month or so ago who has one ordered. He lived in Costa Rica I believe.

I'm placing an order with dealer Monday..
The salesman isn't well-informed,the option list is very short, and what I need is to talk to someone who has been there done that on this car.
TIA
