As I'm saving for my first 308, my free-time has been well spent studying/learning how to properly drive it. Many of you are probably well ahead of me here, but I thought I'd share some cool videos and books I've picked up on the subject in case anyone's interested; I know they've already made a HUGE difference in my driving abilities.

Videos:

SPORTS IN-CAR EXPERIENCE - various driver's p.o.v.'s behind the wheel of McLaren's, F40's, Lotus Esprits, 911's, etc. Thilling and you can learn a lot from careful study. My favorite so far.

LAP OF THE GODS PART 2 - A driver's eye view of an A to Z of 23 Grand Prix circuits. Haven't seen this yet, but looking forward to it.

SKIP BARBER INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO - a bit dated and very confusing. They breeze through complicated explanations too fast, don't properly define what they're explaining, and use ridiculous graphics that half the time are even more confusing. Someone should redo this the right way. Still, some worthwhile information and it's nice to SEE what I've been reading about.

FERRARI SPORTSCARS & SUPERCARS - Very cool hour-long video covering the 246 to the F50. I would think any Ferrari fan would enjoy this.

Books:

BOB BONDURANT ON HIGH PERFORMANCE DRIVING - great for the basics. Would love to take his course, but it's expensive!

DRIVE TO SURVIVE - by Curt Rich. A bit melodramatic, but a great primer with more focus on the street. He explains things very clearly with simple, easy-to-follow diagrams. If you can suffer his military anecdotes/mindset this is a must read for any driver.

All of these were picked up at Autobooks in Burbank. Their phone number is 818-845-0707. If anyone else has done their homework on the subject, I'd love to hear any further recommendations.

Best,
~Chris
