Very nice pics, those 355's are awesome but that black 348 is pretty nice too.

That was a lot of fun!

Art,

I love that car! Very nice indeed. I have a pretty cool pic I took of you in my rearview mirror. It was taken when Norman was leading us out of HMB. Every time he accelerated I would stare at my red gas gauge light and pray :-)!

Anyway, you live in the Richmond area, don't you? You should come visit me at my new work place! http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/132929/241283.html?1052321886
Your local Toyota!

The pictures really don't do the Diablo justice. You should see the violet in the flesh. The paint is a deep pearl that almost looks like it changes colors depending on the shade it's in. Truly great.

Faisal's car is not only 100% pure, but it's really something special.

Glad to see the usual suspects were out - the lambo looks quite handsome with the violet accents. I really like that touch.

Thanks for all the picts, Taek-Ho (and of course Dave and Norm). That Ultima looks wild! Especially on the road next to Norm's car. Is it true you can no longer buy the kits? Would be fun to put one together...

Some more before I call it a night...

On the caravan down... By the way, that IS an all original Toyota Camry on the left in stunning white livery screaming past these inferior buckets. Also available from your friendly neighborhood Toyota salespeople! Hehehe

Wish I could have made it. Although I don't own an exotic, I would have loved to see all those cars.

How was the Lotus brought over?

Is it a Sun International Lotus with the Honda engine or a true Lotus?

See Car and Driver story for more info on Sun International Lotus Imports - http://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp?section_id=26&article_id=3417

Jason:

There was a bunch of stuff there that wasn't street legal. The lotus had a manufacturer's plate on it.

I thought those Lotus Elises weren't street legal? Were the ones at this event street legal? If so, what needs to be done to make them so?

Taek-Ho, others,
if you want, you can email me your full-size pics and I would be happy to put them up on a webpage and post the link here. I have plenty of software that makes this sort of stuff very easy to do.

Had a great time at the breakfast!

It was nice to put a face to the name so to speak. The caravan down from Serramonte was also pretty cool. It was nice to see these cars on the road.

Thanks Norman! Especially for that little escort to the gas station. My car was on it's last gasps. Of course it didn't help when you took off merging into the freeway a couple of times :-) (it was worth it to see and hear that V12 power at work). I could've sworn I almost heard my car sputter at the end.

I also have some more pictures, mostly repetitive, but I recorded a pretty funny incident on the digital camera. Of course, inevitably, a light blue Honda Civic Si cut me off while I was travelling at a leisurely 80 mph. He cuts right in front and gets on his brakes, then accelerates onto the left lane again. I'll post the pictures of me passing him a little later.

Cheers

What a day!!!!!

5:00 wake up call to meet Art in Point Richmond at 6:45. I like to be punctual unfortunately I didn't make it. About halfway to Napa my check engine light 1-4 comes on and decides to stay on. Keep in mind i'm a rookie, so I'm not sure if this means that my 348 will self-destruct any minute or just being kind of quirky. My first instinct was: the hell with it everything sounds and feels fine. But after a few moments of deliberation I pull over. Wait.... start car.... check engine light still on. I'm going to be late so I call Art.

Brief conversation with Art...ending in the words I wanted to hear: "Everything seems fine, I'd drive it." Really didn't have to twist my arm too much, I'd been looking forward to this.

To make the first part of the story short. I got there Art and Doug and Jeff were waiting patiently admiring their cars, which by the way are absolutely gorgeous. And we proceeded to half moon bay.

It wasn't hard to find the breakfast place. Follow main street, stop as soon as you see many Ferraris and other assorted exotic cars. One of which as mentionned previously was definitely out of this world and I couldn't believe it was actually on the street.

Having seen enough cars, I accepted Art's invitation to join him to go to Sears point and see the motorcycle races. A new experience for me. And, BOY!!! did we ever do it in style!!! We were able to go everywhere, see everything, and hear it all from about 5' away.

Lunch in Grandstand luxury suite (where apparently you can't bring your own food-but if you smile a lot and joke around with the cute girl that's trying to enforce some kind of order it's really not that big of deal.)

Walk through the paddocks: where Art knows everyone.

Cross the infield to the starting grid: Once again Art know everyone.

Jump over barrier to take pictures of bikes only seconds before start: This was my personal favorite, being an amateur photographer ann being able to get those shots and at the same time feel the prerace tension was just extraordinary.

Witness start from about 5' away: I can't believe the mayhem that happens, the sound is overwhelming, and you are so close one just doesn't know where to look.

Did I mention- Art knows everyone.

It was a fantastic day! this is where I put the "big grin" but it's in maintenance mode, thanks rob the one time I need it.

You will have to settle for :-) :-) :-)

Matt, what were you thinking?

Thanks Art, and thanks to all of you who brought all those fantastic cars to breakfast.

It was a fun breakfast. Little rain coming across the bay bridge, but a nice day. Took Vincent to the motorcycle races, introduced him to a couple people I knew, we got passes that got us on the grid, he got photos of the bikes just before the start. Good day. Maldin won both heats, my co-rider for the endurance race, Vincent Haskovec was second in the 750 race, Rich Oliver won the 250 race. A great day.

Despite the potential for rain, we had the biggest turnout ever: 308GT4, 328, Mondial Cab, 355 Spider, 355 coupe, 348 x 2, 550, Porsche 996 Carrera 4 Cab, Porsche 996 TT, Lotus Esprit V8, Lotus Elise, Ford Saleen, Lamborghini Diablo Roadster Millenium and perhaps the most interesting of all, a Can-Am spec Ultima running a 430hp V8 in a 2100lb open cockpit racer. Pics to follow later.

OK, updated list...

Ferrari 550 Maranello (Norman)
Ferrari 355 TB (Art)
Ferrari 348 Speciale (Noelrp)
Ferrari 348 TS (Vincent)
Ferrari 308 GTSi QV (Stephen)
Lamborghini Diablo roadster (Josh)
Porsche C4 Cabrio (Taek-Ho)
Porsche Turbo (Mark)
Saleen S281 (Brian)
Spirit of a Japanese Ferrari 360 (Tako)

Lost the GT-40 to a hose problem and Ben's TR (so so sad...but hey, there's always a next time!).

Did I miss someone or is someone else unable to make it?

Checked weather.com and they say no showers. Slight chance for light showers. Looks like the west bay is pretty clear though. I'll try to make it to Good Guys parking lot.
