Bob,

When it rains in So Cal it RAINS. But I drive it everywhere. It's my only car so I have no choice.

Jordan,

Drive thru workers get use to it. :-(

I have a 1969 365 2+2. What does it take to qualify as a "daily runner"? I certainly drive it in the rain.

However, I don't leave it at the airport for three days, or drive it downtown every day. I do drive it to Home Depot or the video store. On occasion, I take it on extended trips and on those trips it serves as my primary car.

I don't think I meet your qualification, because I don't drive it every day, or even a majority of days. Why bother trying to shoehorn the kids in just to take them to swimming lesson, when it's so much easier in other cars?

Ken, good point... the car was a former challenge car - it was re-converted for street use. Interior re-fitted, custom stereo installed, brand new A/C unit, CF seats installed, but much of the performance mods are still in place... ride height is a bit low, and the car can be louder at higher rpms (still have factory challenge exhaust) ... but it is tons of fun... I'm just mindful around residential areas and long tunnels (ppl can go deaf this way)... I've taken it to Home Depot, Costco... and Del Taco drive thru!! :-)

We buy em to drive em. Simple as that!!!

The 365 is too cumbersome for everyday, D.C. driving. I'd be going through 2nd gear synchros every other month. It gets driven every Sunday - I picked up a load of slate tiles from Home Depot a few weeks ago. The loading dock guys loved watching 200 lbs getting loaded into the Ferrari trunk with no change in the ride height - so my pneumatic levelers work!

Byron, how can a Challenge car be a daily driver? You must have done a lot of work to get it street legal. Still, it's can't be fun around town.

The 1985 308GTS QV here. About 3k miles since Feb 1... and this is New Hampshire so expect more miles as spring is FINALLY here.

Enjoy the Drive,

If I could figure out a way to thoroughly rust proof it, I'd have my mailing address changed to my 1975 GT4.

My 330 doesn't like endless traffic-otherwise I'd drive it everyday. Always cools down with a block or two of easy running, but the DC traffic craptacular is too unpredictable unless I'm leaving home at 6AM and coming home at 8PM.

I think rain or shine is kinda tough on a pre 308 cars - I mean these things rust even when they don't get wet. I know Rijk drives his daytona quite often but not sure if in the pouring rain

Just wondering who of us is really using a classic Ferrari as a daily runner?

Let's say pre-308 GTB (1975).

With daily runner I mean rain or shine (but not winters if you're in a snowy region).

Jack
