I agree with Rob S that a proessional driver coach is well worth the money. As luck would have it that is my job ;) and I have thousands of laps around Mosport. I'll be in touch.

Ok, well here is a rough tour of LRP, I'll fill in more details later. Turn 1 AKA Big Bend is really 2 turns stuck together. There are some concrete patches which are slippery and these are sprinkled all over the track. there is 1 near the apex of the first 1/2 of #1 and there is another CP in the middle of Big bend.

You can carry quite a bit of speed into BB, dunno about the handling of the Subi but a 308 is just beautiful the way it dances through there. after apex 1 get the car sorted & in the AWD you can probably floor itin the middle of BB and scream out :-) the 2nd half of BB is still coming but AWD should help you stay on the track LOL

exiting BB you want to stay on the left side of the track. Esses are coming up in a hurry, brake for the SSs. turn 3 is a left hander, you want to stay out late and when you do turn in you want to ensure that your driver door is on the left side of the track to prepare for the 2nd S. turn 3 is the slowest corner on the track but its Very important to b in the correct position here that i just told you cus your charge around the track begins at the apex of 3.

You may be able to do turn 4 flat out but there is VERY little run off & there is armco & a swamp behind it so b careful. Turn 4 is pretty easy, just intimidating cus of the small run off. Now you are on the back or no name straight. There is a slight S but its really a straight. there is a tree at the end of the straight that I use as a brake marker. I brake after the tree maybe 1 or 2 seconds. Now you have an uphill right which is fun. You can really carry a lot of speed here as the hill compresses the suspension. You will use less & less braking at the bottom of the hill as the day goes on, might even take it flat out if your cojones are big enough :-) the hill is short and has an abrupt change leveling off at the top. cars with huge HP can do wheelies here and powerful rwd cars will spin there rears here. AWD should not have too many theatrics. It is VERY IMPORTANT to have the steering wheel straight ahead at the top of the hill so you dont spin into the infield. turn 6 is fun & fast . on the inside there is a berm or gator. The apex is at the flat spot at the begining of the berm, its a fast corner :-) Now you are on the downhill, Fun. I shift up to 4th under the bridge in the 512TR, you can take turn 7 flat out , again if your cojones are big enough :-) be careful though as the exit is bumpy & your car can get a little out of shape. NEVER lift on turn 7!!!! :-) then its flat out down the front straight & back to BB

Steve, if you have a map of Lime Rock I will talk you around it. Ive done LRP in 1:01 in my 512TR which is really moving in that big car on that tight twisty track. Matt is also familiar with LRP.

I have a 3000GTVR4 that I use as my rain car so I have a little experience with hi-po AWD

Steven, why not hire a professional driver coach. If you're interested, I have many contacts in the industry. IME, regardless of a driver's experience, a professional coach will save money in the long run.

Are you running data acq?

Good luck with your campaign!

At Laguna the only real secret is to stay far right on the front straight with your right front wheel on the white line bordering the track and don't turn in on "one" until you cross the start and finish white line. Not many people do this, but its worth about two hundred revs going into Two. Take a close look at the banking in One and you'll see what I mean.
Entering the "Corkscrew" stay left instead of wowing out to the right. Think Zinardi. The black marks on the pavemant show the way.
Other than that Laguna is a piece of cake. Sears is a piece of cake also, but with bittersweet frosting if you screw up.

Oh me silly piece of Euro trash...

"butt pirate" = slang for homosexual man?

Nothing wrong with that I would say... the more the better as that will leave more women for me as I am actually a lesbian caught in the body of a man...

Hello,

I'm a long-time FCA member and owner of a 246GT here in Orlando. I've raced Alfa Romeos for many years and write infrequently for the PH and for many other car publications.

I'll be racing a 2002 Subaru Impreza all-wheel-drive (#95) in the SPEED World Challenge at Mosport on May 15-18, at Lime Rock on May 22-26, at Infineon (Sears Point) on July 24-27, at Mid Ohio on August 7-10, at Laguna Seca on September 4-7, and in Puerto Rico on October 23-26. I've never been to any of these circuits. Id like to meet with a local enthusiast/racer - preferably one with some on-track time at these race tracks - during each weekend.

If you know someone that is interested in seeing how a well-funded, accomplished, two car team from Orlando Florida fares in a very, very competitive and professional sedan race series, have them email me. I offer them free entrance for the weekend, food and drink, and a vivid learning experience from my 15+ years of racing, chassis setup, tire 'black magic', and my insight as a driver. In exchange, I'd ask them for: a day or two of showing me around the race track, make notes at selected corners while I'm on the race track, and tell me anything else they know of the racing complex and surrounding area.

Enthusiasm and a will to share information is more important than their racing experience at these tracks.

I would like to meet with one or two enthusiasts/racers at each race track.

Thank you,

Steven Piantieri 407/257-4322 cell
