DaveL...doing great...was good to hear from you -- thank you for the private e-mail! I sent a reply via the F-Chat mail server but apparently it did not go through. I'll resend it right away. Let me know if it doesn't come over.

Mark...you're very welcome...good to hear from you as well! Thank you for the ride invite...that is very generous of you...would love to ride along with you sometime...especially in the new 550. To be honest, I've never ridden in either a 512M (or any TR for that matter) or a 550. A buddy of mine offered to let me drive his 360 F1, but I declined...would rather just ride along as a passenger.

Scott...I hope that the 355 deal works out for you...keep us posted. As far as PPI's are concerned...either Omega, FoCF, or European S.S.S. would be fine choices. Don't know too much about Cavallino Motors in Ocala other than the fact that a fellow F-chatter had his 30k major done on his TR there (I believe).

Eric:

Thanks for your kind words! We need to get together with the cars sometime. If you ever want to take a ride in my 512M or the 550 when it comes let me know.

Mark

If I'm not mistaken, the 355 you're considering purchase is / was owned by Dr. Mark Moon. I've corresponded with him on occasion, and he is a true gentleman who is passionate about his F-cars, tracks them, and maintains them well. It is my understanding that he has his cars serviced at Omega here.

With regards to Omega...I've visited and spoken with Steve V. / Omega shortly after purchasing the 308. We discussed servicing the timing belts, etc. at that time. The dealer who sold me the car recommended them (since they use them for PPI's, etc.). In addition to servicing Porsche (and others), Steve is fairly knowledgeable about most of the F-cars / owners in the area, and services many of them regularly. I've heard a great deal of positive, and only one negative (ironically involving a PPI), regarding Omega. I do know that they sponsored a local Ferrari gathering / drive at the recent Amelia Island Concourse. I've also heard that they are currently in the process of building a brand new 10,000 sq.ft. facility to serve the exotic car community better. Their current facility is rather small (in an industrial warehouse type building with a couple of bays).

Personally, I've never used Omega for service to date...as I've been using European Sports Car Service in the Orlando area. However, due to current circumstances, this might change and I might have to be visiting Omega again...we'll see.

The only other options in Central / Northeast Florida, as far as I know, are FoCF and Cavallino Motors in Ocala. Feel free to e-mail me for any questions you might have.

FerrariChat member Dr. Mark Moon has his Ferrari(s) serviced at Omega Motorsports. I have heard other good things about this service shop from other FC members as well. I'm sure they will chime in...

Has anyone heard of Omega Motorsports in Jacksonville Florida? I am considering a 355 that is in Jacksonville and has been serviced by Omega and a mechanic named Steve Vairamoglou. The car has 15K miles and the 15K service was done by Ferrari of Atlanta at 10K miles 18 months ago, but ongoing maintenance has been performed by Omega. I also need help with a PPI in the Jacksonville Florida area, although I could send the car to FOCF.

Thanks,

Scott
