Sorry that I missed you today in Portland. I tried to contact you a couple of times, but I think my schedule was a tad off of yours, as I had to get back to Roseburg.

So, next time I'm up, I'll have my people contact your people. Can't wait to see the 575.

Hans.

OK...I FINALLY saw the pictures.....

Where's the chain link steering wheel?

Where's the big exhaust stickin out the back?

I don't see any blue lighting glow coming from under the car!

The picture of you diggin in the trunk...I am assuming you are adjusting the pnumatic air pressure for the shocks so you can enter the car in the low rider dancin' contest this weekend at Cannon Beach?

Is the back seat big enuf for the cat carrier, or does Fluffy have to ride in the trunk?

Its GOR-GEE-US!!! LOVE the color!!! See you saturday...(Bring Fluffy!!!)

P.S...Did you tell your dad yet?

Just like with a manual transmission....someone who is new to it will be rough driving it in the beginning until they learn the subtle nuances. But once they get a feel of the F1 and it is broken in appropriately, all the complaints of lurching and diving are moot!

When I first drove a 02 575M F1 with 2600 miles on it, I thought I drove it pretty well.....I started getting the feel of when to change gears and at what rpm. Then when I drove the brand new 03 575M F1 (which I eventually purchased) immediately afterward, I thought I had an epileptic seizure and proceeded to drive the thing like a tard!

>>The car looks GREAT ! I love the 550 and 575 body style. But, can you replace that F1 shifter with a traditional 6 speed ? If not, be prepared to replace a lot of clutches and suffer with lurching while driving slow in traffic.<<

Have you driven a 575F1, Frank? Or just read about it?

Yikes.....At first I thought those chimes were the rear parking sensors! I'm glad I didn't back up into anything. Martin I think I could drive this thing all day long and not get tired of it. Hopefully it will hold up to the reliability test! So how many miles have you put on her in the last 2 days? I put 300 miles the first day after I took delivery! And in the pouring rain too. Performed beautifully!

Martin
Even though it may not be in your owners manual you may have low range like my Maser coupe which is good for parking. If you downshift into 1 and downshift again 1 will flash and so will R and you will be in low range. Less ware on clutch.

As Jeff said that is where "N" "1" "2" "3" "4" "5" "6" and "R" is posted. Also when in Reverse a chime starts ringing until you shift out of R.Frightened the crap out of me the first time.
So far the car is a dream-will post after this weekends Ferrari run to the Oregon coast.

On my 360F1 that little window is the display for the outside temperature. The F1 info is below the 7 on the tach. You might be able to make out the "N" for neutral.

Martin: I'm "doing lunch" with my son at the Harborside. We'll be done 1pm-ish. At that point I'm on foot, as my ride to Portland will be going back.

I'll give you a jingle mid-morning. Weather forecasts had called for a clear day, up until just recently. Now they are saying 30% chance of rain. Crap.

Ton,
thanks-that's one cute son you have.
Kuzi-"a new house" what are you nuts? I'm retired on a fixed income!!!
Jay-give me a week or so-we're going on a "spirited drive" with the F club this weekend which will give me a good comparison.
Hans-I'll be in the NW tomorrow with the 575 from 1pm to 3 pm-my cell is 503-890-5305 if you get a few spare minutes otherwise I'll see you at the beach.

Damn, Martin. I'll be in Portland tomorrow afternoon, but don't have time to beg a look at it.

You promised me a ride in the 360, so....... let's see, if my math is correct........ I should get about 2/3 of a ride in a 575. Correct?
