A previous thread from a couple of months ago addressed this issue and the concensus was 45% markup by the dealer. It wasn't disputed then so I assumed it was true. As I recollect there were parts suppliers on the thread also. Curious, DJ |

The owners site is maintained out of Europe. FNA has no way to regulate the prices on there. The price at dealers is not set by FNA, but suggested list is put out there. Most dealers have a matrix so that they can at least stay in the parts biz. The margin is SO slim in parts, its funny sitting on this side watching everyone complain. We (dealers and use to be dealers) are here because WE love the cars as much as you do. We would love for the parts prices to be lower, but reality is FNA has control over the NAmerican market, and has their price set at what it cost them to import the parts and pay all the custom and duties fees. Something to think about...and it works well in my area (Silicon Valley). I ask customer who are in the computer biz. how much they mark up a part that they are reselling, even b2b, and most of the time it is 100%-150%. Could you imagine if parts prices were that high?????? We make MAYBE a 30% margin on parts at then end of the month, and most of that is due to Ferrari pricing. Imagine that a Ford dealer averages 40% to 45% on their gross profit, yet no one ever complains about their pricing!!!! Just step outside the "owners" box and look at it from this side of the counter. Regards.... |

I think the price is set by FNA. I've heard that the dealers are complaiing about the pricing on the site. Some of the items are priced below what Ferrari sells the item to the dealers at. Art |

I'm about to buy some parts for my car and have been VERY surprised at how reasonably parts are priced on the owners site. Has anyone compared the site prices to the local dealerships? Can the dealers charge whatever they want, or is the price 'set' by FNA? |
