i have 'amusme' (name of a famous racehorse btw) on one of my cars and it helped me get many tickets....i guess the cops were not amused.

my uk car is 'oil xxxx', and i sometimes worry about getting stones thrown at me given all the tree huggin', anti-globalization, jealousy-consumed boneheads in london.

frankly i would not bother with any custom plates anymore, it just makes you stand out that much more and who needs that when you are driving a wow car anyway.

In a past FCA magazine, there was a picture of a Dino that had "NO WIFE" on the plate. Then, the owner got married and changed it to "NOT HERS".

I was thinking this one
plate
you can see whats available here https://www.dmv.state.ny.us/inettrans2/wcCustomPlates.ASP?WCI=empchooseplate&WCU
a while ago this site used to be fun. They didnt ban too many words, and you couold get plates like 1II1I1 and 0OO0O0O or I01O0I1. They gotta be pretty tough for a cop to read when you fly by at over 100.

Guys,

how about coming up something within limits for my country? Three letters followed by three digits, four letters followed by two digits or five letters followed by one digit. Like:

AAA-111
BBBB-22
CCCCC-3

Kinda tricky, but as Hans pointed it out, Germans have it worse. (I did see an M3 with a license plate that read MMM333 in Munich at the factory, but this is within the rules of the fixed first letter, or first two letters.) Here pretty much anything goes within the above rules, provided that it's not offensive.

I'll be a popular guy with this post! (haha). I think there is nothing more humble that a Ferrari owner can do is NOT to get a vanity plate. It seems that every ricer on God's green earth has one. My feeling is that vanity plates do two things: 1-Help the car to become a bit more than its not and 2-Boost the ego of the owner. Yes, I agree that they can be fun. I have had two in the past. One on a '39 MB SLK Roadster replica that read 'BRZYRYD' and one on my work card that read 'LV2SL2U' (I am in field sales). In SF a few months ago, I saw a plate frame on a 348 that read 'Don't laugh, its paid for'...That was the worst. I just believe that by not having a vanity plate, the owner is showing his or her humility to others that are less fortunate, who probably could not afford such a nice car. I will be getting a new replacement plate for my car though..

My 348ts, which I just sold :-( had a plate that read: ADDIO...
...Italian for "see ya"

Of course, my all time favorite is NZO4RE, but the dopey Commonwealth of Massachusetts will not allow letters to follow a number on a custome plate. When asked for an explaination of the logic behind this rule they said "Because". Insanity.

Les,

To change topic:
Just saw your profile and I am very impressed indeed! Could you give me a ride in the 275 GTS if I ever should be in Philadelphia?
One of the nicest Ferraris ever built, IMO!
If you should ever be in Germany I give you a ride in my little crappy 348tb on the german Autobahn in return.
Ooops, Tried to avoid the Autobahn topic, sorry :-)

Les,

Yeahhh that really is an advantage of Germany indeed! :-) I always take my car to max speed at every drive I do (Of course after having warmed up the engine properly) since there is a 20km long, nearly straight, three lane, no speed limit, Autobahn just five minutes away from my garage.
The car really likes this highway and I like it even more :-)
I dont want to show off to much with where I live but Spa race track and the Nürburgring is also just one hour away. Very nice to test out the car without regular traffic!

Jens, yours is a small price to pay in return for the ability to drive at autobahn speeds. I'd gladly trade any plate, and maybe a car or two, to be able to drive the others nearer to their limits. Wish I were there with you, Les

Les,

I already thought of something like that! Justed wanted to mention in case :-)
In Germany you can have two characters (You must have at least one) and up to four digits. The first part of the license plate always is an abreviation of the county or city you have registered your car in (BN=Bonn).
Compared with this you can choose more freely and flexible in the US.

Paul - LMAO...!

Dave, i think what Martin's saying is that he has to include numbers in his combinations, thus rendering your suggestion null and void; RRRR would be fine, but the last two digits would be required to be numbers, not permitted to be letters...

Ben, you have the Ferrari already, what about 'WHATNXT' (or some variation thereof)...?

7 letters is awesome. You have it easy.

In my country, you have these formats:

AAA-111
BBBB-22
CCCCC-3

I was thinking about getting FERAR-1 (gets as close to the name of the car as possible) but maybe someone has a better idea - this looks kinda goofy. Maybe FRRAR-1? Got more oomph to it.

I have been wanting to have a custom license plate made for my Ferrari for some time now, and I just cant think of what to write. I can use up to 7 letters. I was curious if anyone here had some ideas or had a plate with something unique or catchy on it.
