Cool, sounds like a good learning expierence in careing for our cars! Do let us know if you find anything successful for F-40 preservation!

Best!
Ben.

Dull it will stay. Although I am going to the Autoglym factory tommorow for a day of detailing. Lending you wet and dry bays with all products and instructors to show you the way and answer questions. By the way, the doors are a lot shinier than the rest of the interior, clear coat I guess. Thanks for the help.

It's dull from the factory, because very little clear coat was used to seal the CF. Pretty "polished" looking CF parts, while very cool looking, are heavier because quite a lot of clearcoat is layered on, and then buffed smooth. (read: Enzo's intakes.)

Raw carbon is actually rather dull and irregular.

I wouldn't worry about it, just vacumm it every now and then, and drive the living snot out of it! :-)

Best!

Rob is right, its dull from the factory. I use 3M plastic cleaner. also tried the 3M plastic polish with no change. the inside is the way it is. I would never put carpets in mine or anything else. it looks very nice and racey the way it is.

if you want shine hang some gold bling bling chains from the rear view mirror.

Pascal,

The inside of the doors seem to have a slick coating/finish, whereby all of the other exposed carbon fiber surfaces appear to be somewhat dull.

Is this your observation as well ?

I haven't found anything that works well for the dull finishes either.

It was dull the day it was born. It's basically raw carbon-kevlar with no gel coat, little or no clear coat. I have seen 3M clear vinyl installed over these surfaces, but IMO, just wipe the dust/dirt off and leave be. You cannot "polish" carbon-kevlar weave like paint, metal or plastic.

Does anybody know what to use to clean/shine the inside, carbon fiber, of an F40. The finish always comes out dull with the products I have tried. Thanks for the help.
