Craig,
Ain't that the truth ; ) For that matter, even my little old QV gets its share of gawks and whistles. Ferraris are flat out sensual. Yes, there are sedans/suv's now that will out pace them, but in the end, they still deliver a smile.

Pat,
Your LeMans looks CHERRY! Is that original paint?

Allan,
To be honest, I thought that your initial post was non confrontational. You obviously like cars and have a very nice collection, but your subsquent comments have escalated rather ill feelings. Freedom of speech should be expressed with consideration in mind...your posting on a Ferrari board. Are you telling us you're intentions are completely informational in nature?
I do not wish to get ino a flame war with you. I only ask that we try to improve the content on FChat.

The current Corvette's do not creak and crack. Back in the 90's and 80's that could not be said!

I don't really look down on any collector car. If I must admit it, I have not one, but FIVE 1966 Universal Rand 3 wheeled mail delivery trucks in my stockpile of trash,...er, I mean, collectors items. They're parked in the woods right next to the M3A1 WWII military scout car. Which is parked next to a 1962 Pontiac Tempest with rear mounted transaxle, IRS, etc. Weird car.

The only thing he got me on was that I haven't bought my first one yet and I can honestly say that even though the Fcars have their share of problems I have never looked down on them or expressed that. And as far as me having my Lemans on my profile if it bothers you too bad.

I was talking with a guy with a new 2003 convertible Vette. We started talking about performance and I told him that his Vette would take my 348 anytime it wanted. But.. guess who's car everybody was looking at and getting all the attention?

It is those moments that the cost of maintenance is farthest from my mind and I couldn't care less about Ferrari problems.

I like your Lemans myself. I think it looks pretty sharp.

I think that everyone shooting and yelling over these mute points should be forced to sell their cars and drive aorund in a Geo Metro with flat tires. Go enjoy the cars you have for gods sake, as some members on the board want the cars we have.

you can bring them up - problem is they are bought up in a way just to get people fired up - furthermore you guys react just the way he hopes. Just ignore and there will be no more fun for him

"Causing problems?" And your own profile has a photo of a 1966 Pontiac Lemans Convertible. Not exactly the kind of photo needed on a Ferrari site profile. By the way, I sold my 1967 GTO years ago to a family friend. I bought a '66 Vette convertible to replace it.

I think everyone knows that every car produced is going to have some problems. But to bring up the downfalls of a brand on a website that is for that brand is stupid and imature to say the least. Plain and simple it is causing problems.

I have known dozens and dozens of local car buffs who have owned everything from Ferraris to Maseratis to MGs to Corvettes to Mustangs to one guy with TWO fully restored WWII Military halftracks with quad mounted 50 caliber machines guns. He even raced an Osca back in the sixties. They all know the ins and outs of numerous makes of cars. No need to put one's head in the sand and pretend that each marque doesn't have its own brand of problems.

Allan's profile says he owns a Ferrari not a Lambo. I have had 6 Ferraris myself and loved each of them. But, I'm not stupid. I understand that their are a lot of cars out there, including Lambos, that will outrun their Ferrari counterpart. But, they are still not a Ferrari. The Ferrari name has a cachet that no other car in the world has. I remember when I first got my 328 a teenager in a Mustang 5.0 pulled up beside me at a stoplight and wanted to race. I went along and got toasted by the Mustang. But, when I got home I parked a Dino a/k/a Ferarri in my garage where the other fellow still had a Ford. i like the new Lambos and think Audi is going to make them even better in the future. Ferrari needs to step up to the plate and improve its line as well. But, for now, I still prefer to own a Ferrari.

Arlie,

You are one that will always speak up against Ferrari also so that statement coming from you has no meaning.

He might do that after he stops by the local high school so he can show off his spent Lambo

Being realistic and truthful enough to recognize that faults and problems of ANY make of automobile is not "stirring up trouble". It's just being realistic. As Jack Nicholson said,
"You can't handle the truth!".
Every car buff that I know of says pretty much the same type of things:
Mustangs rust. Corvette bodys creak and crack.
Ferraris are finicky. Nothing blasphemous about merely telling the truth.

Causing trouble is one thing, expressing your opinion is another. Freedom of speech is nice isnt it?

Why do some people knowingly come on A Ferrari website and start fLapping their piehoLes About how bad a ferrari is or their car is sooo much better wheN they know all that they are doing is stiring up trouble? Isn't there some Ferrarichat rule saying that if you get caught causing too much trouble you will be banished from here?
