Jon,

Sorry to say it was another "Bob" who owns the Enzo - I aspire to be the gentlemen he is. Sharing his Enzo (and 333SP at other times) the way he does is a delight to all Ferrari fans and car nuts. I must say that nearly everyone at VIR this weekend did a great job of sharing their cars and showed the utmost courtesy on and off track.

VIR is a premier FCA-SE event and we are already planning for the Roebling Roads weekend in November; mark your calendar and try to join us.

David C.,

Just reread your post and realized you said "parking lot". I remember pointing your car out to my girlfriend.

Bob,

It was great to shake your hand and talk cars. Thanks for making us feel welcome. Your family atmosphere made it very enjoyable. I hope my family enjoys these events as much as yours.

I look forward to seeing you at upcoming events / meetings. Let me know if you are ever in the neighborhood.

Martin - the photo of the guy in the 360 Spider w/out belts looks staged - I think he was just sitting in it to see how it felt or something - The track officials were very professional throughout, with many safety checks. Does look bad in the photo.

Bob,

Is that your yellow Enzon? A friend of mine named Doug was staying at the same hotel as you and the other FCA members. He was in Danville to drop off his BMW at a local shop nearby and told me he briefly chatted with the owner of the Enzo in the hotel lobby for a few minutes and was really impressed that you (if it was you) took the time to chat with him about the Enzo.

He was also out at VIR Sunday and commented to me what a nice person you were to take the time to talk to him about the Enzo and he was blown away by your willingness to take the car out on the track and drive it hard.

I was at Ferrari of Washington a few days ago to pick up my Challenge car and there was a red Enzo being readied for delievery. I was told the owner would most likely never drive it. Apparently he owns a 550 Barachetta that he bought last year and it has a grad total of 127 miles on it in 8 months.

Hats off to you for taking it to the track where it belongs!

Hopefully I will meet you next year at the VIR FCA event if I can make it out there (missed it two years in a row now).

Regards,

David C,

It was good to meet you & Davis there yesterday. I was there all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday and took a ton of pictures, some of which I'll post later. I burned nearly two tanks of gas on the track over the weekend and had a great time with our whole family there.

Be sure to check out Car & Driver's July issue as the Enzo is the cover story. Csaba Csere and a photo crew were here at VIR Wednesday to do the story.

The Enzo, F-40 and 288GTO are all local cars (Greensboro, Burlington & Raleigh) and the local FCA group is outstanding. You should think about getting to the fall event at Roebling Roads where our HQ hotel will be the Westin at Hilton Head and will be held in conjunction with the Hilton Head Concours (1st weekend in November).

David,

That must have been you behind the TR. A Countach passed us shortly after you guys went by. My plan was to get there at 10:00 but several factors didn't allow us to leave my house until 1:00PM.

That was my girlfriend in the passenger seat. The car looks much better with her in it. :-)

I wish I could have arrived a little earlier to meet some people.

Great to see somebody is using the GTO for its intended use and does not park it in the showroom to haul it from Concourse to concourse. I was equaly glad to see Charlie using his GTO on the track in Sebring. If you read this, thanks Charlie.

The guy with the 360 Spider is not buckled up. What is with that?

Nice to see the 330 out in VIR as well. The owner comes to a lot of FL events and is one cool guy to talk to and listen to his stories. If I could only remember names...crap.

David,

I wish! I was there for a few hours on Saturday just to check things out. I arrived in my Pontiac GTP with squealing brakes :-) I should have a 355 by fall/winter.. hadn't actually seen any blasting around a track in person, so I figured this event would be a good opportunity to do so. I was also hoping to get a ride, but realized pretty quick that I wouldn't fit in one with a helmet on...ah well. This was a nice event though. Now if someone could arrange one up here at Summit Point........

Craig,

I wish I knew you were going to be there. I was driving the 348 Spider that passed you as you entered the parking lot.

It looked like we both had nice looking passengers, mine was my 5 year old, who was with you ??

I would have waited, sorry. I am sure we will meet soon. Let me know when you are headed back to Greensboro. I had lunch with Dr.stranglove last week when he passed through. Just let me know.

A for the Enzo - he packed it in around noon as did the F40. The Murcielago was also gone early. Plenty of 360's ( Comps, spiders & coupes) and many others.

I will be ready next time also.

Robin - was that you driving the 360 and wearing the full racing suit ??

I managed to get there Sunday around 3:00PM and most everybody had already left. :-(

It was my first time to VIR and I was able to take a few laps with the helmetless group. We had to keep it under 60MPH. But I did what I wanted and that was just to get familiar with the area and the track. I should be ready next time to go all out.

Wish I could have been there for both days. I really wanted to see the Enzo. The pictures look great.

Watching the Enzo blast around the track was quite a sight. The driver didn't seem to mind really beating on it and finding its limits either, which became evident after a few late braking lawn mower maneuvers :-) I like knowing that a car like that actually gets put to proper use. Most exciting thing of the day was watching Paul Prideaux's 355C chase the GTO around the track. Two great drivers with fantastic cars. Biggest disappointment of the day was the Murcielago.. great looking car, but makes absolutely no sound, even when blasting down the straight at triple digit speeds... ZZZzzzz

Amir, it is so good to see my "old track" again. I moved from central Virginia to Florida last year. Before the move, I worked at VIR as a corner official on weekends, primarily just to be around all of the awesome and exotic cars that would race on the weekends. South course is a great little track with some twitchy little turns that get you sideways pretty damn quick!

Great pics!

The Enzo was not loud at Idle but at speed...it sounded like a Ferrari F1 CAR!!!! The GTO was extremly loud, it was great. I loved the Blow-off valve sound on the F40. All 3 were very nice.

Seeing them here together I must say that the Enzo may be quicker, faster, etc, but the F-40 is still the undisputed King of Badass!

Amir, any more pictures of that 330 for us dinosaur lovers?
