I may be completely wrong, but, I seem to remember hearing of a road legal 333SP owned by a guy in Great Britain. Anybody else can confirm or deny?

Jere , thats what im talking about , magazine have already announced a Le Mans racer from Maserati. Jean Todt confirmed its currently being developped and that a road car might be released as well for around 400 000 $.

Im not talking about the Maserati Trofeo..

The Enzo is supposed to be not far off the 333SP's lap times (which is simply astounding, I've gotta see this to belive it!)

Why get either or? Track BOTH

Best!
Ben.

I think Jere is correct. This will be a 2 seat Enzo based car.

Not the GT car Andrew. That is based on the Maserati coupe. Mark my words, you will see a Maserati in a couple of years racing against the likes of the Bentley and Audi type LM cars.

The last two chasis's were built in 2001. One of the last two was raced at the Rolex 24 in 2002 by Seitel/Risi Comp. It led for seven hours before dropping out with transmission problems and David Brabham smacking the wall due to cold tires after repairs were done. It is on the showroom at FoDallas.

No more chasis's available for build now.

I would bet that we will see a Maserati badged LeMans type car (possibly based on the Enzo). This would allow Ferrari to concentrate on F1 and Maserati to establish a new name for itself in endurance and road racing. I would bet we could see it as early as 2005.

I have heard from people who know that if you have about $1M, Maranello will build you a new one.

Is the factory still producing them, can you still order one? Or is this a used car market for the 333 now?

It is the top of the line at the current time. I want to get one when I sell my practice in 20 years :-)

Will it be F80?? Two generations next??

I know of someone in Chicago who recently bought a 333SP......he has an F40 for his daily driver.

Now that is the best of both worlds, in Ferraris!!!!

On the other hand, while perhaps rarely cross-shopped, a customer for either car could likely have both if desired.

Maintenence likely costs much more, and service intervals are much shorter. I wouldnt want to shell out big $$ after about 24 hours of use for a major (with a big emphisas on major) engine service.

333SP for about the same price or a little more? Even though it is not road legal, it would be more fun on the track?
