I'm criticizing non-constructive commentary. It's EASY to criticize and say "that's bad, that's dumb, ooough that's ugly". As Ferrari owners and admirers - we are supposedly people who appreciate the finer things in life. Things that are unique and special. You may not like all those unique and special things and you ARE entitled to your opinion, but simply saying that's bad, dumb, whatever is a waste of time and weak. I don't think many would have the nerve to say to the owners face "gee you sure did destroy that $100K car" so why do it here and I know few people saw that big wing and thought "cool!". I know if I were a wealthy man I'd buy that dolphin covered Lambo for a girlfriend and she think it was wonderful, just like you dig your Star Wars stuff, Doc. I work in the communications industry. I work to help other people express their ideas/visions/tastes that may or may not be my own, and I've learned to respect other peoples tastes even when I don't share them. |

You guy's defending the things done to these cars are really taking things to seriously. I don't think anyone of us would turn down these cars as a gift or for a screeming deal. Some people may love the way they look and would buy them for a premium, I don't know anyone, but hey it is possible. I posted the Lambo pics, because I thought it was kind of funny not to say that the owners are idiots or ruining the cars, like everyone said the changes are reversable. Really everytime someone states an opinion, it doesn't mean they are pig headed or Ferrari A-holes. I personally wouldn't like a Ferrari with the mona lisa on it either. They both look like the fantasy cars of the renound artist at "Mattel". The dolfins are done much better than I could ever paint, the artist is amazing and I admire his ability as well as some graffiti artist, but still not my taste and I thought would be interesting to share my pictures of what I thought to be a very unique car, that most would probably find some humor in. Of course I think the Lambo is funny looking and would not do that to my own car, but then again many people think blue on a Ferrari is a travesty and that is what I like. |

i agree with Andy & Peter James... Although, on the same token, i completely support everyone's right to voice their opinions... But just think back to when you wanted a Ferrari or Lamborghini before you had one; wouldn't you have jumped at the chance to take one of these for a spin...? |

I was at a Ferrari event with a friend of mine who is so deep into P-cars he bleeds Signal Red. Anyway, we were looking at a very nice 275GTB on which you couldn't help but notice the three inch chip of paint missing off the hood of the car. My buddy couldn't contain himself and started pointing at the chip and commenting like "how could you let this happen to a Ferrari", etc. Well the owner heard it and replied, "when you own it, you can paint it". Bravo I thought, and that comment kind of fits here as well. |

Peter, Who are you for criticizing our observations??? I do not think any one is really condemning the people who do these things. But most of us would not, and would not have even thought of it had it not been shown to us. Either way, no one is saying they CAN NOT simply that we(for the most part) WOULD NOT. That is the American way no?? DrS |

Drstranglove, I've seen that blue 348... I nearly wet my pants... But hey, he's an artist... and is very good (I'm sure you've seen his work)... so I don't think it's a crime for him to give his cars a custom paint job... He used his Ferrari as a canvas. |

I'm getting pissed with the number of comments regarding other people tastes. Do I like what has been done to these cars? No, but that does not make them bad, ruined or destroyed. Andreas Forrer makes a very good point about the BMW M1s. He has a wing on his 308 that I think looks pretty good, too. Who the F*ck are you people to be the ones to cast your crap tastes on other peoples desires. Maybe you have not been paying attention, but I can think of a hundred fine smart esthetically aware women that would love to have that Lambo. Don't be the short sighted Ferrari a--hole snob that many people think Ferrari owners are. Ruined? geeezz |

I guess it all depends on who the artist is. Has anybody seen the BMW M1 cars in the BMW museum in Munich? They were painted over by pop art artists at the time. One was a Liechtenstein and one a Warhol. You could say they destroyed the look of the cars, but I bet $$$ these cars are now hot collectibles for any serious art museum. So if those dolphins were done by Wyland...(although a Wyland isn't quite in the same category as Warhol) |

I'd sh!t in public and wipe my ass with my bare hands for a shot at owning either one of those cars... Hell, paint the 328 purple and put dolphins on it, leave the wing and i'd still take it... |

Thanks for the clarification on it being a real Lambo, Jim! I think this is done by the same artist as the 348 in Vegas, and yes the dealership is really trying to use the paint job to sell it and I bet at a premium. The dealer told me it was a $200k paint job...what ever! PSK, I know it is just paint and I don't think I am saying we need to shoot the owners or crush the cars...rather posting it for the humor factor. Maybe you should lighten up. |

it would take less $$ to correct the 328 rather than the Lambo. |

What person would do this ? A Ferrari owner wishing he was a Lamborghini owner. And no, that isn't a Lambo wing (it may look similiar to one but it is not)

Jack -- There's no way any of us can know exactly why it was done, but we can presume that the PO liked the way it looked. I even kind of like it. Luke. |

Lucas, for the most part, I agree with you. But if you're idea of being "different" is merely bolting a spoiler onto the rear deck of a car (which, by the way, is about as "different" these days as tattoos and body piercings), why not do it like you did? Start with a more standard body style and toughen it up. This is just done for the sake of doing something. |

I don't think the spoiler on the 328 is bad at all. Then again, I love Diablos.

There's quite a few Lassen cars, and they all fetch (or at least try to) a premium. He's done a couple Harley's also. There's a gallery in Waikiki that always has one vehicle on display. I think it does make his art look better, but it makes the cars look worse. |

That is a real diablo. 30th Anniversary SE. THey came in that ugly color and somebody made it uglier with those stupid dolphins. Which reminds me of another story. My friends and I call strippers Dolphin Doctors. Why? Because every hot waitress/stripper type you meet is "going to college and majoring in marine biology" or some other generic, feel good dicipline. |

Guys it is just paint ... can be removed. The car is hardly ruined!!!! Same as the wing on the 308, can be removed. Adding a roll cage or other such things can do far more irreversible damage. I know of one company that after welding in roll cages to some Porsches (brand new BTW) had to cut the cages and have the cars straightened again ... as they did not know about shinkage and weld pull. I would have been unbelieveably pissed if one of them was mine. Come on guys lighten up a bit Pete |

Slide up some chairs behind that 328 and you could have a nice picnic. Looks like there's enough room around it for a family reunion. |

Terry you think that is bad???? There is a 348 on display in Las Vegas at Caeser's Palace that has that done to it. It is in a dedicated art shop in the Forum, and the artest painted dolphins ALL OVER the car!!!!! I almost sat down and cried...... DrS {edit: it is at the GALERIE LASSEN Marine-Themed Works of Art by Christian Lassen. (The man should be beaten!!!) http://www.lassenart.com/images/gallery_images/vegas2.jpg |

You think that is bad look at this Lamborghini! I didn't think it was real as the wheels look wrong, the nose looks wrong, the placement of the badge is wrong and the windows don't look correct or the seats, but it did have a Lamborghini V12 in it.

I saw a yellow boxer someone did that to as well. If it was a track-only GTB with a real adjustable wing it would not be as objectionable. A 355 Challenge with a wing is supercool. |

Is it functional? I remember seeing a few spoilers bolted directly to the rear deck (not on a f-car) without any bracing under it to spread out the force..... Well, it did look interesting flying off on the highway at 80 James |
