I realize we had this discussion before, but never really got a comprehensive answer: How do you change from a tan to a black interior? I got tan and would prefer black. I realize the carpets can be dyed, but where can you take your car for that? Also how do you get that leather on the central console etc dyed black? Seats are obviously easy. |

If I were to order a car, I would to tan or natural interior, but I would use black stitching. That way the stitching does not look dirty after a while. Rob |

Michael, Sports seats are about $4000 option that you can get with the car. It is carbon fiber with leather factory-optioned. Give the driver full support and adjustment is made manually. I believe Sparco made the seats for Ferrari but gotta love the Cavallino embosse around the headrest, just simply beautiful

I like the 550's seats also. Very comfortable. I just didn't expect the squeaking. Dr. S - Are 550 "sports seats" different than the factory seats? |

Michael, It is not uncommon to have a squeak noise on the sports seats. It does it too on my 550's sports seats. But I love the style, look and feels very comfortable |

Red with blk interior or black on black. Lighter colors show wear easily and tan is not one of my favorite colors. Silver and charcoal grey or blk interior is good looking too. |

I know what you mean Dan. During a recent visit to Ferrari of Seattle, I had the opportunity to sit in their 550 Barchetta (#410 of 448). It's Rosso Corsa over Nero interior. Nice! I thought it was funny that the seat squeaked quite a bit when I got in the car however. I think the seat was cranked all the way to the rear position on the seat rails and was rubbing against the back of the cockpit tub. (i.e. - back wall... not sure how else to describe it) Still a very nice F-car. That squeak wouldn't bother me a bit. I'd scoop up a 550 Barchetta in a heartbeat given the right circumstances.

Personally I like the nero interior on the 550 best, but that's me. --Dan |

Thanks for the feedback. I posted the original thread regarding black convertible interiors. I've seen a number of tan interior F-cars (in person) but I'm still waiting to see one in black. From the online photos I've seen, I think I'll like the Rosso Corsa / Nero combination when I finally see it in person. |

I like tan than black interior on the Maranello. Feels brighter and "more leather" Blue is nice with either silver or titanium exterior color. Not too much fond of carbon fiber package, but I love the sports seats

On the recent question about black convertible interiors in Georgia, I can help answer that. I used to have an Austin Healey 3000 Mk III with black interior. Convertible of course and the only car at the time. As an Army Engineer Officer, I was in Georgia to attend Paratrooper and Special Forces schools in the summer time. I had no problems with the black interior. Top almost always down. However, one has to use common sense. When hopping into the car after a day at the beach, put a towel on the seats first. This also protects the seats from wet sandy bathing suits. A tan interior has to be cooler, but either will work. So it boils down to what you like best. |
