Hi Martin, I thought they looked like R3S03s ( http://www.rsracing.com/rscatalog/asppages/rt-dotscr.asp ) Any way you slice it, you have a very nice car! If it's not street legal, I won't tell! ;) Best! Ben. |

Martin, Welcome to the club! We now have Matt K., Rob L., Paul P., and a few other F chatters with 355 C's. I think you and I are the only ones with 95's that can be made street legal (mine isn't set up to be street legal but can be made so). Was this the car on Ebay a few weeks ago for 62K that didn't sell. I think it was from Georgia and Bob Mayer told me it had been raced in SCCA and the Challenge series. Any more info you can share with us? miles, spares, race history. FYI: they (FNA) are having a 355/348 Challenge gathering at the Lime Rock Challenge weekend in July. At first they were trying to organize a race but have since decided on a few parade laps and then a track event to co-incide with the races. Have fun! Regards, Jon P. Kofod 1995 F355 Challenge #23 |

Ben, the slicks are definetely NOT street legal and DOT. They are the racing Hoosiers and they are just slicks for track. The car in its present configuration is not street legal either. No front direction signals, no DOT approved 3point harness, no fire wall (I think)ground clearance too low (Ants get their heads chopped off when you drive over them). The 360s CH are all not DOT approved fopr road. In fact they are all EURO cars with EURO VINs. The 355 Challenge were only street legal (if converted) in 1995, due to new DOT/EPA regulations in 1996. So only a 1995 car will be able to be converted.

Woow it looks so cool. And you're driving it trough the streets of Miami ?!? Must be very strange to see a race car driving around the street. Good luck with her.

Has 2 OMP seats. No radio No AC No comfort. less than 4 fingers for sure. I am actually thinking to take the windshield washer and direction?light switches out of the console and put switches in there. That will enable me to get in and out better without the darn switches sticking out of the console. Some work for the weekend.

From the looks of it, it looks about the same height as mine... mine is 4 fingers width from the ground in the front...with the carbon/kevlar speciale lip coming, it REALLY doesn't look good for me on this dips!! Martin, we should get the two cars together for a photo opp... it would look great! are you running slicks on the street? haha... I see OMP seats...does that thing have ANY creature comforts? A/C even? (obviously no radio). Passenger seat? |

The damn car is sooooo low. Byron, your car was hard and still very racy, this one is a pure race car. Very rough to ride in the streets. Yep, I can not get away from the damn red. I HATE RED CARS BY NOW!!!!! I WANT A YELLOW ONE!

after 2 months I sold me 355 Spider yesterday. With the anticipated sale I bought a day earlier a 1995 355 Challenge. Here are some first pictures I took. I drove the car now for 2 days and hell this is no fun. At least not on the streets on Miami. It is loud and bumpy and you feel every damn manhole under your butt. Getting in and out is facilitated by the quick-connect steering wheel. Still a Uri Geller act to make it in one piece. Lots of fun though.
