The 348 and 355 trannies had the gear shafts in the same direction as the axel shafts. The 360 has the tranny shafts in the same direction as the crank shaft.

The 348 and 355 have the clutch behind the transmission. The 360 has the clutch between the tranny and the engine.

That is, the designs are about as far apart as possible.

The reasone im asking is I am wondering if there were any changes from the 348,355 and 360 transmissions? I do know there was an addidion of sixth gear and single disk clutch but would like to see if the rest of the mechanical layout stayed the same?
