I think Bo Pirkle in Tucker, GA wants $145 a wheel if you bring them on the car with tyres. Ofcourse, they would be concour perfect when you got them back. You could ship them to him.

Jim, Does it require any particular paint, color etc - or do I just go to a reputable body shop and let them match the color?? Thanks for your help!

Don't do it yourself, to do it right will take 2-4 hours per wheel and that's if you already have the proper equipment. Plus your equipment costs. Mine were done for $85 each and are perfect...

It can easily be done, and they're not magnesium. I had mine repaired and refinished for about $130. Rob had all four of his done for about $100 each.

Thanks Jeff,

Do you remember what color you had them re-painted? Where can one purchase this paint?

Thanks,
Johnny

Many have sent their wheels to companies that specialize in refinishing. Check out the archives. I believe the prices were very reasonable, around $150 per wheel and under. I stripped my Testarossa wheels and had them repainted and clear coated. The results are terrific and the price was cheap. But it was not worth all the hours scraping, wire-brushing, sanding, and chemical burns to justify the savings. If I had to do it again, I'd send them out.

I noticed that the rims on my 86 328 are starting to look a bit weathered? Can I simply have the rims painted? I have been told that they are made out of Magnesium and there is not a lot that can be done? Any help would be appreciated.

Johnny
