There are only a very limited number of 456's made each year so the cost of production cannot be spread out over as many cars. I believe that only about 60-70 456m's were brought into the US last year. Low numbers=high cost per unit High numbers=low cost per unit If Ferrari were to build 5000 456M's in a year, they could probably sell for about $125K new. |

Kenneth, I assume because it has the V12 (that's why its more then the 360)- I thought it was the same price as the 550/575? |

I can never understand why the 456 costs more than the other Ferraris like 360 and 575. Where has all that extra money gone into, if not into the car itself? |

I thought the 456 used a transaxle rather than a traditional transmission. |

The 400i used the GM TH400 tranny. The 456 uses some kind of one-off box made in Michigan somewhere. |

The 456 is the last Ferrari requiring regular valve adjustment. I believe it has to be done every 15K miles. As for the transmission: I thought the 456 auto tranny was a GM THM-400? I guess when Ferrari rebadges it with the prancing horse, they multiply the price by 10x... Dennis, the 456 interior is much roomier height-wise than either the XKR or DB7. |

A replacement 456 auto trans is 52K. If you buy a GTA make sure the box is good. |

I am looking into buying a luxury coupe. I have a need for an Automatic Trans car due to me livin in NYC and wanting to use the car semi regular, yes our traffic is bad.I am also 6,2 would i be comfortable in a 456 GTA i was in an XKR and an Aston DB7 and both are not that roomy. I need to know if the service costs maint costs are the same as the mid engine cars or is this car less expensive to run due to the front engine auto trans layout. Sorry i mean to put 456GTA in the header lol |
