Since it's an early 348 does it have the painted blk bottom? don't bother taking it to the paint shop, it'll scrape again anyway, you just can't help it, if you drive it on public roads, it's bound to get a scraping or bottom out on the pan. Since the parts are fiberglass, it won't rust, maybe spray some bedliner material on the bottom.

Well the only good news about the scraping is that is happens less and less as time goes by. I think it has more to do with the bumper material abrading away than driving technique improvements.

My F355 is NOT lowered, but I have a (let us say) driveway situation that requires me scraping the nose every time I get in the car. So what do I do? I take it back and get it fixed once a year back to pristine condition ($500/yr). Much cheaper than changing houses (mine is already paid off).

Bob Biscan -- good to see you here! I see you're putting a Ferrari back into your stable in August. I presume this one will not be a paddle shifter this time?
(I guess this is off topic... please reply in the Georgia/Alabama section even though you're Tennesee, or email me via the link in my Profile).

Skid plates, hmmm, need some my 348 challenge is about an inch lower than stock and I really struggle, especially since it seems that speed humps are on sale here in the UK. I also paid some moron tax recently when parking in my garage, like the man said, good to relaxed about backing it in once day and..........Upload

Noel -

Happens to everyone....too bad it was your buddy's car...

Only a moron if you do it again in the exact same place! lol.

All others - Two words - Skid Plates.. bought some off this site...composites that fit right over the stock ones. 2 big benefits:

1. Ends are angled so you hit them at 45 degrees
2. Make less noise when you hit

Noel, one of our good friends on here who also has a 308 tried out my 308 with the Euro front wing. He got a tad casual driving into his own driveway and scratched it. These things happen.

Trying to park mine one day I hit the concrete pillar (similar to what Jack did according to his post). I don't get ticked off about it anymore, it is part of living in the city.

Whenever I retire and move to the country, I'll have the car repainted and put it into a 20 foot wide garage.

Noel, don't feel bad. A month after I got my 328, I scraped the rear corner backing into my garage. Having perfected the motion, I got a little too casual. Moron tax indeed.

did it to mine after just one month and after looking up there there was evidence of it happening a few times before, dont worry they are all scraped under there sooner or later.

I think everybody scrapes the nose sooner or later because the cars are so low. The TR is even easier to scrape since the front is so low and long. If the guy riding with you had the car very long he would of told you to slow down or take it at an angle. The 348 is worth 50K. Just a guess.

I just had the euro spoiler rebuilt/repainted on my 308QV after a bad scrape/bump/crunch on a pothole/rr-track combination. I guess I can't complain... it's been 7 years since I had to do it last time!

Cars get damaged so get over it. Rob lives with his whiskey dents. Oops, sorry Rob. :-O

The only things I gotta say is don't let the body shop take advantage of your situation because its a Ferrari. So what? Some shops will overcharge for really small things. Just BEWARE & use your best judgement.

Noel,

I believe if it were my car "I" would drive it tomorrow - I think you may have done enough!!
LOL!!:-):-):-) Don't feel bad, lets put things in perspective for you - Hmmmmm - okay, your friends Dad hates you and probably has already hired hit men - your "friend??" (ex) thinks your a moron and you will most likely need to call the paramedics when the bill comes back! But hey it could be worse - it could have been your wifes car! Ouch!! Seriously, when driving these things all it takes is a lapse in attention and you get the attention grabbing 'SSSSCCCCCRRRRRAAAAAPPPEE'

I scrape mine once a month, it's part of owning a Ferrari. That's being careful every day I drive it with speed bumps and especially steep ramps. It sounds like the entire car is coming apart, but it's really not that bad. Some add skid plates to the bottom.

So my buddy calls me today and tells me that his dad just bought a 348 and asks if they should stop by to show it to me. They come over and he asks if I'd like to give it a spin. So I'm cruising around and I go to pull into the ally behind my house and I scrape the crap out of his bumper(they same ally I always pull into). UNBELIEVABLE!!!, i was being very careful, but his car has been lowered AND someone spilled a glob of wet cement(now dry) on the road surface, so between the lowered car and the raised surface...SCRAAAAPE. So tomorrow I'm taking it to the body shop to have it fixed. It's not that bad(I was barely moving), but it's the point. Money aside, I can't believe that I did that to a car that was only a few hours old.

PS...what is a fair price for a 90 348 gts with 17k miles. outside in great condition(except for my handy work), with the inside a little worn? I don't care what your answers are, I just don't know the 348 market and I couldn't tell them if they got a good deal or not.
