I would probably go with the 1996 since it has 6k less miles on it. With a ferrari, 6k miles is alot. That's just my opinion. |

I am going to get a PPI done on both cars and then decide. |

Arthur: What do you mean "at that mileage, things start to go wrong"? Maybe at 60,000 miles, but certainly not at 16-22,000 miles. Scott: If Arthur is correct, then I would stay away from either car, and look for something else. Arthur is giving the 355 a bad reputation, I think. |

scott is in NJ USA. the warranty options are kinda limited. my understanding is that the powertrain warranty isn't that great a deal, but if it's included, so be it! more interestingly is to have the dealer give you 3 months or 6 months of blanket coverage - to stand behind the beast, that presumably they've gone over and sorted out. imo, playing the resale game is a crap-shoot at best. just assume you're going to get boned and you'll be happy if you end up doing okay. doody. |

Scott from painfully expensive experience buy the one with the warranty (such that I wouldn't run a modern F-car without a warranty btw if it's a powertrain and a 97 car in the UK you can extend it to two years for not much more money, worth asking, maybe they'll include it in the deal |

The warranty might be worth a lot more than 3k. At that mileage, things start to go wrong. I'd take the car with the warranty if the price were anywhere close. |

If resale is the deciding factor, get the '97 even if it has more miles. Being a single owned & a year younger make it a better value to the next buyer. Also, the warranty alone is worth at least $3k so you are not paying more than the '96. Good luck |

I would take the one owner car with the ability to trace the car from birth. If you buy the 3 owner and don't keep it long then it will be a four owner and that's a lot for a new car and some one might assume problems with the car. If the same was true with the one owner, then you would be only owner #2. Also I think you can assume the car is sorted out by the single owner. |

Given two different opinions, this is going to be tough.... |

i'd say the owner/mileage thing is a wash. fewer miles, but more owners. each owner will have had to do their requisite clutch-drop burnouts and whatever other idiocy we all have to do with these toys. and you're not talking 4,000 miles -vs- 25,000 miles here. 16 -vs- 22 could easily be one year of your ownership if you really drive the beast. $3K delta? buy the 97. absolute no-brainer IMO. resale value a few years from now will be barely different between them. 95 -vs- 99 maybe, but 96 -vs- 97 no biggie. doody. |

probably a push - 3 owners is concerning but 6k less miles is a positive plus less money, prob would go for the 96 is it comestically is the same and you can confirm miles not rolled back |

As my search continues for a 355B, I have a few cars to decide on... The first is a red/tan 1996 with 16K miles, 3 owner car, all books, tools and records with an 18 month old belt service done at an authorized dealer . This car has a tubi and challenge grill. The second is a red/tan 1997 with 22K miles, 1 owner car, all books, tools, records with a 1 year old belt service done at an authorized dealer. This car has a tubi and challenge grill and also comes with a one year Ferrari powertrain warranty. The 1997 car will cost about 3K more than the 96. Which car would you choose assuming both cars in terms of physical appearance are the same. My dilemma revolves around a one owner with higher miles, but with a warranty, versus a 3 owner car with 6K less miles. I also need to factor in resale value. Your opinions would be very helpful!!
