Hi Folks. I too am one of the '02s that have been upgraded (ECU, clutch etc). It's really a weekend driver so I haven't actually driven the car since the update. Once I give it a run (later this week), I will report back to those interested (in the "Other Italians" section). |

James, The car appears to be going thru very significant improvements from model year to model year. I like the fact that they are trying to improve the vehicles of existing owners at the same time. After all, purchasers such as yourself have taken a 'leap of faith' with the brand, and it seems only right that Ferrari/Maserati return the favour by providing the best car they can to existing owners. Definately, this is the best long term approach....Even if it costs the company now, I believe long term they will gain from more robust sales.

Jason It's good that they're doing these things. I think this is a better attitude towards getting things right. |

I heard that they were also updating the ECU to enhance the gear change smoothness. As well as putting some form of shielding/dampening near the gearbox, so that you don't hear the clunking noise as the car changes down thru the gears. (which the Maser spyder I borrowed suffered from VERY badly) The clutch update looks a pretty big job, I saw a Maser going thru one a couple of days ago & it was in many, many pieces |

Went to WWOC today to check up on my Deusenberg which is almost ready for Greenwich on May 31. While I was there they flashed my Maser with latest software upgrades. Larger Type on crt display. Cd now remembers last song and returns there when you restart. Nav much easier to program. There is also going to be a recall for some 2002 Maser F1 clutchs to reposition PIS and add a stronger 2 tang clutch. Car continues to run great and sales are picking up. |
