"I wonder though if the cats are the same from 1995 and 1996 models. OBD2 came in 96 so they may have changed a whole lot there on these cars" There's an extra O2 sensor bung for the OBD2 cars. I'm working on an aftermarket replacement unit that will be cerified and EPA legal with metalic catalyst instead of the Ceramic. I'll know when we dyno them, but they should be bit better flowing and will sound a little throatier too. We're trying to get the cost down, but with the special flanges and offsets, it drives the cost back to where we will have to sell for around $1000 to make it worth while. The second o2 sensor bung will be plugged on the early model, so the same cat body will work to further keep cost down. D |

I heard the 348 cats have alot of baffels and the F355 didn't so the gain on the 348 is higher than that of the F355 when the cats are replaced |

that was about time Erik! David, I heard the 355 would no chnage much either. I wonder though if the cats are the same from 1995 and 1996 models. OBD2 came in 96 so they may have changed a whole lot there on these cars. My 348 did a BIG difference. rev faste rup and free flow. HP difference who knows. I would have said at least 15HP. The difference was SIGNIFICANT! Highly recommend everyody to do that. ON a 328 talk to Erik and see if he can make them for you! |

Hi Y'all, I heard Martin shouting! I now have test pipes ready to ship for the 348, 355 and have TR pipes in as well Construction is of Stainless tubing, TIG welded with O2 bung and necessary flanges. If you decide to remove your CAT, spray some penetrating oil on each fastener a few days in advance for ease of removal. I will have the 328 pipe in the very near future, as I go to pick up my 86 Mondial Cab this Thursday. Ciao Erik www.ejentertainment.com [email protected] |

Hey Dave: I think you will see about 15 HP gains with the test pipe Dave. But I'm not sure. If you'd like to get in on prototyping some Hiflow cats, we've been asked to dyno test some cats for someone. They are asking for 355, but we may be able to incorporate a 328 or 550? Teh "Pipe" will be a bit louder than you'd expect though. Me being a shop owner, I can't put them on a "Street" car. However, if you're going to the track, that's a whole different story. Also, check out my 355 Cat post about reman. I can do that for the 328 as well. Tubi's says it's new hi flow cat will give you about the same as a test pipe! Would like to see that on the dyno. Hey thanks for the congrats. Glad Lee let you in on my awesome race at Road Atlanta. Had a blast. I passed one of my old pro cars I used to manage in IMSA with none other than our primary driver back then to win the race. It was quite exciting and down to the wire. Also my first time to drive Road Atlanta, believe it or not!!! I'm still jacked about how fast I picked up that track.....except for turn 12, I'm a . It scared the hell out of me each and every time. BTW, there's a new F-car in Austin and it's at the shop. You should come see. Not street legal as in race car ;-) D |

Thanks, Dave Moore! Any opinion on using a test pipe in place of the catalyst? By the way, I saw Lee this morning. He told me of your Road Atlanta adventures with Peter, as well as your personal success there. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Dave: Just rec'd some pretty cool info on LenzKatronic system for the 328 that brings it up to 300HP. Performance increase to 280/300 HP Some details: Dual sum lambda regulation Sport metal catalyst integrated into muffler Sensors for rpms, intake manifold pressure, and temperature Electric pulse valve for K-Jetronic pressure modulation Lenz KatTronic engine management for injection and ignition check it out http://www.lenzmotorentechnikusa.com/LenzPowerKatFerrari.htm#ref2

I have the cats on my F355 and a Tubi. The car revs faster and reaches redline faster. I don't know if it has anymore HP, but throttle response is quicker and more responsive below 3000rpm. Not really very noisy at highway speeds. |

I have had my Cat's off for some time now, and along with a Tubi it sounds like a race car. I live in Indy, and this weekend I was out and about. I had one couple at a light say, " we just came from the track, and we swore that one of the drivers was driving his race car home " I said that I was sorry the car was so loud, and they said no, the car sounds beautiful. I love the the combo, it is awsome. Rob Klein |

The 348 testpipes will give you a good 15HP boost. It is impressive to see how much they open up the car and leat her breath! I highly recommend it for a 348. The pipes I had came from a fellow F-chatter, Eric who I can highly recommend. Great work at less cost that the traditional manufacturers. Since nobody will pay you extra for manufacturers testpipes, you might as well go with Eric and save the $$$. I can not find his e-mail address immediately but will look for it unless he can please post his own ERIC <shouting> |

Thanks, I'll check around. Just went for a drive today, and I love the sound of my car, but heard Art's 355 with Tubi the other day and man, I really love the sound of that. Gotta get one.

Vicent, If you do a search, you will see a few feedback regarding Stebro's leadtime and quality. I have no personal experience, just found these threads during my search for Tubi or Stebro. This was over a year ago so maybe things have improved. As far as Tubi test pipe is concerned, it is very high quality with thermocouple and O2 sensor inputs perfectly placed. Any correctly made test pipe should mate up to stock or aftermarket exhaust w/o problems. |

Fabs, Mike Are Tubi bypass pipes compatible with a Stebro exhaust? What does the Stebro sound like? I've heard the Tubi's and I like those, but my wallet likes Stebro. thanks, |

If you decide to order them, call Stebro (www.Stebro.net) and ask for their "euro resonator". |

I have a brand new set of tubi bypass pipes. I was going to install them when I purchsed another F car with this 348 going in as a trade. I also have a new set of donuts that fit on each end of the pipes. $400 for all of the above with shipping. |

I want one. Anybody know the best place in the bay area, or do you just order them online?

Well it's smog time again so I spent a few hours yesterday re-installing the cats. On the way to the smog station, I was surprised at how quiet my car is with the cats back on (I do have Tubi exhaust). Although I was tired, right after the smog test, I put the test pipes right back on without hesitation! Hope this helps some of you guys contemplating test pipes or Tubi first. |
