If you live in Atlanta and you are not a member, you miss out on several local discounts and some special events. I save the value of my membership every year at Ferrari of Atlanta & T-Rutlands. There is even a special event for members only one night this week at an undiscosed location. |

Dennis, you're definitely overpaying. It's supposed to be $135 per YEAR, not per month! |

Frank, I don't think that the Cavallino Magazine is included in the FCA membership. If so, I have been paying for subscription to Cavallino. The FCA membership includes the national bulletin and the Prancing Horse. |

My $.02. I'm a board member of the FCA New England Region. But I also think that $135 a month (for those of you who live in surcharge regions) is too high. I've made my objections known. Yes, the News Bulletin and Prancing Horse are very nice, but then again so are Roundel and Panorama and the BMW and Porsche clubs don't charge nearly as much. Of course, they have much larger membership basis, but PH is a quarterly and not a monthly mag. FYI, the regional surcharge of $35 is all that the region gets... the rest sticks with FCA national. Bottom line, like others suggest, check out how active your region is and what events you think you might be interested in. It IS a great club, filled with great people. We could always use more fun people, especially people interested in helping out with putting on events (hint hint). So, I think I get decent value, considering the number of events in my region. vty, --Dennis |

i also concur re: the local chapters. i joined FCA and FOC at first, but dropped my FOC membership since they don't do much in New England whereas the FCA has a recently re-formed New England chapter that has been great. check the web sites - you should be able to learn a lot about how active (or not) your local folks are. doody. |

David is right--it all depends on your local chapter, how active it is, and how it welcomes its members. As for the BMW/Porsche club comparisons: please remember that FCA is ~~4,000 members. BMW & Porsche clubs have 20-30 times that many members. So, it is a lot easier to spread operational costs, publication costs, and insurance costs around, resulting in cheaper dues. |

The FCA Newsletter, The Prancing Horse, and Cavallino magazines alone make it worth that much ! |

Andy, It is totally dependant on the local chapter. Here in the NW we are blessed with a very active chapter that has at least two or three events each month. We have more and more planned as members contribute and offer to host/plan events. I personally plan/host at least three or four events a year myself, and it is great fun. Check and see what your region is up to through the FCA site.... |

One of the major FCA benefits is the insurance for the driving events. |

Compared with other clubs that I belong to (the BMW CCA is perhaps the best example) the value/cost equation is somewhat Ferrari-like (that is, expensive). So on a comparison basis, I would say it is an average (not good) value--still, I wouldn't not belong. |

Both regional and national publications included in the price, at least where I'm located - well worth it IMO. |

It's $135 and if you participate in some of the events, it's a bargain. |

Do FCA members feel they get good value for their $120 annual dues? |
