Any year is a good year.

I personally think that $219K is too much for a used one. Same as with the 360 if you hold off a few more months you will be able to buy them cheaper. Let the .com's go bust and you will be there to buy their toys.

If you are not in a hurry, place an add that you are looking for a 550 and give your color and max milage.

Biggest change is the '97 has been off of warranty for a couple of years. The 2000 will have another year or so left (550s have two-year warranty).

Rumored 550M in the offing. Six liter w/F1 tranny option.

From a newbie; I'm thinking very seriously about trading in my Porsche 996tt on a Maranello. Can you help a poor neophyte navigate the waters? I've found a 2000 550 at a dealer for $219,000. I've noticed in the FML that the '97's, still with low miles, can go for $25,000-30,000 less and I was wondering whether there have been any MAJOR changes in the model during the past three years?

Thanks for any and all advice!
