I have had a 1991 e34 M5 and now own a 2000 e39 M5 as my daily driver. It is a wonderful car that will out-run and out-handle all but a few of the cars out there. But , its still not a Ferrari. Do what I did. Get an e39 M5 and a 348 spider. You can get them both for less than one 355 spider. |

I'm just gonna pretend that I didn't read this, I know I haven't been around a lot lately, but what's this world coming to. |

What a question..... FERRARI Please the BMW is a limosine with extra HP and a stiffer suspension. It was never made to be a sports car. Compare it as a German Ricer! Put a wing on it and drive it down to the kids in their Honda's. Yes, I know it can blow the Ferrari into bits and pieces on the Autobahn. I had to make that experience myself when I could not get rid of a M5 (the first one made) in a 1990 TR. Who cares, the ride is still a whole lot better in the F-car. |

Since having both cars all I could tell you is go for the Ferrari. The BMW is powerful and comfortable, but is bland. I saw no fun in driving it. The 355 is a way much better and more fun car to drive. It has soul. |

Only car? M5. It's more subtle and utilitarian. Already have a driver? 355. It's more interesting. |

It really is a comparison of apple vs pears.Loved my 355. It is a great car.So is the M5 but any beemer just isn't a Ferrari.( Have a new M3 plus 360) Drive both and buy the one that makes you SMILE.Bet it will be the Ferrari. Good luck, You can't go wrong either way. |

Both are fantastic cars and I dont think you can go wrong with either one. You just need to ask yourself if you want to be able to carry just 1 additional person or 4. Also, most people wont recognize the M5 as much more than a 5series BMW...on the other hand, a 355 will no doubt get noticed. Please drive both and let us know your impressions. |
