Here's Michael in Montreal that year. His wife on the left. Looks a little frazzled, wouldn't you say? |

Andre, it wasn't the face of the earth from which he fell, just the edge of the track! Over and over. Michael shot himself in the foot by not living in Europe (not to mention that monster white-trash ex-wife of his), but he never got the chance to do necessary testing, and was actually improving by the time he was replaced. Oh well. |

Remember, that Andretti took Mika Hakkinen's seat away. That ticked off a lot of Fins during the season. Andretti eventually became like a running joke, each race he got less and less results and distance, lots of accidents etc. He was way outclassed by F1 plus he put an additional burden on himself by not being willing to live in Europe for the time being. So he flew back and forth to the US in between the races, was always jetlagged, not refreshed and didn't get much testing done. It was a mess. Eventually by mid season they axed him and Mika took over. All from memory, but I think I got it about right. We'll see. Other things notetworthy: Ayrton's last full season and the build up of the Benetton and Schumi's first WC in the following year. |

I always wondered what Michael Andretti was doing in '93. It was like he dropped off the face of the Earth or somethin'... |

Before they named any drivers or showed the date of the race, I thought I had tuned in to a Formula Atlantic race given what the cars looked like and the sounds they were making!!! I caught on quick enough though to enjoy the rest of the show. Man, those cars have come a long way! |

great show, great racing history. besides the race itself, I enjoyed the commentary; all reflecting back 10 years and where they are today. I think they said that last nights episode was Schmacher's 22nd F1 race. he has definitely come a long way. there was a great battle between the first 3 cars; Senna, Prost and Schmacher. |

I caught the race last night. I was surprised to see Sena racing until I caught the date of the race. It's amazing how the cars have changed. |

Did anyone see this show on the Speed Channel? The show is on Sunday's at 9:00 pm and will show all of the races of the 1993 season. There are 16 programs left in this particular series. The footage is from 1993 but the commentary is done from today. |
