"I'm curious, where did you hear about "Enzo's Lusso" and where did you see that one for sale? I'd like to have a look at the ad. Are there any photos?" Andrew?

Back when Gerald declared these cars a myth, I was only 10 years old, so that was quite a bit before the time that I became interested in these old cars. Personally, I've never even heard this story. When I first read Gerald's article a little while back, I found it fascinating to learn that such a myth had existed way back when. Since I had never heard anything about it, I'd assumed that it must have been laid to rest years ago. As soon as I read your post, I was reminded of Gerald's article. I'm curious, where did you hear about "Enzo's Lusso" and where did you see that one for sale? I'd like to have a look at the ad. Are there any photos? Now, I have seen Lusso's with larger-than-3-liter engines. In fact, I spent an entire roll of film shooting a particularly beautiful black one in Carmel a couple af years back. It had a 3.3-liter 275 series engine. The owner, however, was quick to acknowledge that the hot-rodification had been done at some later point in the car's life in order to improve on the dull perfomance of the standard Lusso powerplant. |

THanks Wayne , but what do you think about this car ? Is the Enzo's Lusso a myth ? There is one for sale in the UK right now , a red one and it has and additional rear air scoop . |

Andrew, Excerpt from "Mythical Ferraris" by Gerald Roush, FML Vol 5 No 5, March 8, 1980: "Another common production car is claimed to have been produced in a couple of variants, the Berlinetta Lusso. For years it was 'common' knowledge that some of the late Lussos were actually fitted with 330 engines--but no one was ever able to produce an example although, as Kurt Miska states on page 62 of his book on the type, there is an example with the data plate alleging 330 but with a 250 engine. A new twist to this theme was provided on page 158 of 'Ferrari: The Man, The Machines' where it was stated that 'the last few Lussos were delivered fitted with the new 3.3-liter 275 series engines.' Again, I will believe it when I see it." |

How many were made ? I know Enzo had one made especially for him but it seems that there are a few more around. Were they later modified or have they left the factory with a 4.0 engine for competition purpose ? How much Hp do they make ? and how much do they go for ? |
