Mr. Doody,

The 250 GTO's are built on a Datson chassis..

This may have been built on a custom tube chassis.

I think alot of these replicas use the MG tail lights and bumpers.. The engine is ford and the dash is almost an exact replica..

When I lived in NY I meet a guy at the Bellmore car gathering (every Fri) who builds these along w/the famous P3 replicas. The car look great and sounded awesome.. One problem.. He was asking $63,000 for it..... I did visit his shop and they were working on a P3 with a 348 engine and tranny. That's the way to go...

I always though that the replica in the movie used MG mechanical parts....

But I could be wrong.

The car in the movie had automatic transmission; this one says it's a 5 speed. What gives??

I was actually looking to buy one of Ron Tonkin's three that he has. I went and looked it over really good and then I rented this movie to see how close that car was to the originals also. Not as close as I remember from the first time I seen the movie. The biggest difference other than the interior was the absence of the front fog lights. I found this picture from the movie and it was the only one I found so sorry for the quality. The car used in the movie was the same style that Tonkin has, no fog lights. So the one you have the link for is not correct or they added fog lights later. And by the way the cars Tonkin has are rebodied cars with the Ferrari V12's and not V8's like what are more commonly used.

Is this the car, it says so. How accurate is it and does anybody know any details on the car? Not thinking of buying, but just curious as i loved the movie.
