They have gotten tough. In 1988 (in my saab), I routinely set the cruise at 180 Km/hr on A8, and the cops did not stop us ever. Yet got pulled over in East Germany twice. |

Another interesting thing about those onion-munchers' highways...they can be dismantled! My buddy and I got on the wrong autoroute and went over 20 km without an exit or U-turn. Gas was running low, so we decided to turn around. We pulled over in a safe place to take a look at the divider. There's a couple of locking pins that had rusted up on the first barrier we tried to pull apart. So we went to the next one and it came right out! A screeching U-turn later, we raced back to St. Maxime and found a gas station, and even more precious, a reasonable hotel room without advance booking in the middle of summer! |

Well, they don't take credit cards--you have to walk to the nearest ATM if you don't have the cash on you. But it's a good system...foreign plates, foreign license, fistful of cash. Easy! |

I think they did give him a break . You dont joke around anymore with speed in France . 2 months for doing 204 kmh is a good deal IMO ! They went nuts !There isnt a single day where i dont see a radar in Paris. Dammit ! |

Seems Montoya was busted for speeding in his BMW on the A8 in France. A measily 204km/hr. His license will be suspended for 2 months in France but won't effect his racing license in France for the GP. You'd think they'd have given him a break! The officer must be a Renault fan, ha!
