LOL, Andy. So true. With my old Healey, I once ripped an exhaust system off driving down a gravel road in W. Va. Had to laugh at your comment. However, the Healey could really corner. I think a Ferrari can corner better, but a Healey is close behind. Have a great day!

Andy, what part made you think it was a thread on s*x? The angle part, or the post that read: "difficult not taking your rear end off". Cheers. |

Aw Sh!t I thought this post was about having s*x. Oh well, yes, I too use the angle approach with driveways. I don't assume any driveway is going to be "friendly" and take them all at an angle. If you need practice with this borrow a friends Austin Healey 3000 and drive it for a while. I don't think you can drive straight over a dime without scraping something on those cars. |

It's helpful to go at as much an angle as possible (get one tire out and the rest should go fairly well) and not to rush it (scraping is bad, but bottoming out is certainly worse...just go as slow as you can). That's about all the advice I can offer. |

only problem is when your trying to exit off a busy road, onto an incline as slow as possible - difficult not having someone take out your rear end. but i must say "most people understand" |

Yep, just take them at as sharp an angle as you can, and slowly. I have a 308QV with euro front spoiler... it took awhile to get the hang of it! |

I find it very helpful to approach steep grades at a 45 degree angle. If you can get at least one front tire headed up the ramp without scraping the rest will usually follow. Just go slowly. pd |

Enter on an angle, the steeper the transition the sharper the angle. |

I'm curious what solutions y'all have been using for driveways and/or garages with steep angles of entry ? do you just throw down some boards or a steel plate or have something cleaner (besides moving ) ? thanks! |
